I hope he gets that "I finished it grin" when he gets done with a model. Sometimes I think that feeling from when we were Nine is what we are all still building for.

I wish I was that good at nine.

I often hear that we are not attracting youth, yet I see things like this online, and at club meetings (I am in three local model clubs).  I remember when I joined my first model club in my teens those of us teen and younger were very much in the minority.  I think access is one reason- my Dad did drive me to several meetings, which were clear across town (Detroit) and it was an imposition on him.  He was sure glad when I got my license.   I really don't think things have changed all that much.  We do still have a fair number of members in twenties, thirties and forties.  Yeah, majority are older, but I am not sure it has ever been much different.

Thats pretty awesome for 9 ! I know when I was 9 my builds looked nothing like that.

Ethan did a great job.  I not only wish I could do that good at 9 but at my current age.  On top of that, he brushed it.  I could never get hand brush to look that good.  Great job!

mississipivol - looks like sprue cutter is gonna have to be in his Christmas stocking this year. :))

He got this Tbolt at HL last year, and I had some reservations about getting it done.  Revell 1.48 P-47N. I did paint it, everything else is him. We lost the piece to mount the prop, and one side of gun barrels, broke the tail wheel off, ruined the tail decal, so there were some things to overcome.

It's great to see kids taking up this hobby instead of playing video games all the time. Nicely done!

Wow, Ethan, you did such a fantastic job on your builds, I like how you overcame some of the minor issues of the P-47 as well.  That's true model kit building!

our club holds a make-and-take once a month at a local air museum. This month, we went through 60 kits in only 2 hours!! The kids kept coming up to show off what they built with huge smiles, and the parents would thank us for puting on the workshop. Some of the little kids even gave us fan art!
