If you were interested in learning 3D, you cant go wrong with this bugger.   She is EPP foam.  I can put it into the ground all day and she wont break lol I can bend the wing OVER 90 degrees and it wont break.

I'm very impressed. LOVE the slick! And the Champ is fantastic!

Can you hover her? I've never been able to get that down.

Great work sir!  Bow Down

Philo426, I have been watching this thread for a bit now.  I'm glad she is almost finished -- it looks very nice!  I built the Guillows Avenger when I was in middle school (for display).  It's nice to see some balsa builders around here.    I got out of giant-scale when I started school for financial reasons, but here are a few of my newer birds.

I have a few hours in a Champ, but I no longer have access to it so now I fly this one to commemorate those memories.          I added a full interior, venturi, full pilot, working door, paint fading, and a few other things here and there:

This is a Dumas Tiger Moth.  She now has upgraded contest rubber and a bigger prop.  The stock wood was light so I used it.  She flys rather well

[/URL]

This is my 3DHS  AJ slick.  I prefer scale but I like to dabble into 3d aerobatics as well.   She makes 1700 burst watts (!) and 1500 constant on a 6s brick-pack lol    I made the Side Force Generators -- they help immensely in post-stall maneuvers.

Here I am tapping her rudder on the deck:

Annnnnd here is be dumb-fingering her into the ground the same night!   Only a few broken stringers.

Sounds like fun.  If it doesn't fly, you can walk it around

No!I took the motor, battery and receiver from a cheap R/C helicopter I had laying around.May be too heavy to fly but the prop will spin on command.

There doesn't seem to be too much room in that Avenger is there?

I found an engine in my parts stash that looks good.(had to grind down the cylinders to fit the cowling). The crank case cover is not glued on pending the selection and installation of a motor.
