Had not checked in on this build since before the wreck.......like everyone else, darn nice recovery, and it looks just dandy in flight.  Your daughter needs a big hug and kiss for getting you to reconsider and do the repairs and finish it up.  Nicely done, sir.

BTW, with your build rate, you will never have a "stash" of kits on the shelf.  You would have to have Bill Gates type of $$$$$ to do that!!Cool

Very nicely done, Friend Toshi, I'm glad you stayed the course and found a suitable place to display it. It looks quite nice with the gear tucked up and "flying," looks right at home.

Thanks for the post, just a really well done recovery, it looks great. Looking forward to the Stuka.

Patrick

Thank you Patrick206!  Posting the build is my pleasure.

That turned out really nice. Good to see one in flight. Nice photos taken on the Eastern front. Excellent save.

BK

Thank you BrandonK!  Yes, I paid dearly for the photo shoot, it was extremely cold and windy.  The BF 109 wanted to fly away every time the wind picked up.  LOL!  I must at all cost be diligent on my next build a Trumpeter 1:32 Ju 87B-2 Stuka as well as those after to not drop any models from this point on.  At the very least.

Hunter

Toshi,

Wonderful job on your build!!! and the photos you took of it are perfect. I have really enjoyed viewing your builds.

Thank you sir, your support means much to me.  I don't know if the photos are perfect but, I know I was freezing trying to get the BF 109 to stop spinning around.  The wind was blowing excessively during the photo shoot.  I live in Streetsboro, Ohio.  I'm approximately 40 minutes from Cleveland, Ohio, hence the issues with winter weather during this time of year.  Thank you for the read and reply!

M. Brindos

That looks great, Toshi. I had to use that zoom feature to see the strings lol.

This is a very, very good recovery. Are YOU happy with it? :) Becasue I would be if I were you, buddy.

Well done, well re-done!  :D

Edit; Photbucket is back up and running.

Thank you sir.  LOL!  I tried to look for thinner fishing line but I didn't want to go out to Walmart in this weather.  Way too windy, this brings the temps down even lower here.  I did have issues with the wind while trying to photograph the 109.  The BF 109 kept wanting to take off in the wind!  LOL!

I'm very happy with how this kit turned out.  At first, I couldn't believe what I did but then, after my fumble and recovery, it looks great.  My daughter couldn't believe how it came out, she likes it very much as well.

Thank you M.Brindos, members like you and other forum members always encourages and support my projects.

To my fellow forum members,

I am having issues with my Photobucket page.  It seems to not want to post (Upload) my photos today.  I have these links below that will direct you to Flickr.  This will allow you to view my completed BF 109.  Thank you in advance.

To my fellow forum members,

After building and dropping the BF 109, I decided that it was a good time to step away and build a Monogram 1:48 OS2U Kingfisher.  I also decided to order a BF 109 Eduard canopy mask.  That gave me some time before returning to the 109 build.

As you can see below, my mask arrived today.  The first photo is of the mask, the second photo is of a dry fit of the canopy, and the third and final photo is the drop tank.

Depending how the weather looks like tomorrow, I'll see if I can hang the 109 up in the back patio and take a few shots that will hopefully depict it as a inflight model.  Thank you forum members for your support in my projects.

Toshi

The mask arrived today and worked out just fine.

Here's a dry fit of the canopy.  I still have to button up somethings but after what happened (Dropping it several times) I'm pleased by how it came out and survived to this point.

This Trumpeter kit is very well detailed and made.  Even the drop tank gets several PE enhancements.

First, NICE RECOVERY!

Mistakes are part of this hobby and correcting them is an important skill to have in your arsenal. If you don't make mistakes, you're not trying hard enough! LMAO!

Not a bad mottling job, Toshi. If you think that was challenging, you haven't tried to brush paint that scheme yet lol. That's a challenge!

Again, nice recovery, my friend. Stuff a little cotton "Smoke" in the cracks and have a Mustang on it's tail.  ;)  You got this licked.  :D
