Completed Trumpeter 1:32 Junkers Ju 87B-2 Stuka
Posted by Toshi on Saturday, January 30, 2016 11:12 AM

To my fellow forum members,

Here is my current build which arrived on Thursday.  I started on the build on Friday right after my photo shoot with my fumble recovery BF 109.  Due to the amount of damage I did by dropping the 109 on several occasions (Mrs. Toshi told me to lie down and not do anything due to me still being dizzy from my most recent bout with TBI.  I actually went into a seizure.  How many men are out there that actually listens to their wives?  LOL!) and hence, I've built it in a in-flight scenario.  It came out beautifully, I just wish I could have displayed the engine due to it's complexity.

As for the Stuka?  Well I will not drop it!  LOL!  I'm very excited in building the Stuka as I've always been amazed by it's menacing stance.  Especially when called a tank buster.  This Trumpeter kit is as complex and detailed as the BF 109.  I've come to truly enjoy building from Trumpeter's offers in the 1:32 scale.  They are a joy to put together.  I'll be assembling the Ju 87B-2 'Immelmann', Russian front, September 1941.

I forgot to add, my next build after the Stuka is completed will be a Kitty Hawk 1:32 P-39 Airacobra.  I'm extremely excited as I've never built anything from Kitty Hawk nor have the chance to build a P-39!

Thank you Hunter!  As always, it's my pleasure to provide fellow forum members with updated post in reference to my builds.  I'm glad you like the Stuka!  We're in good company, it was Mrs. Toshi who picked out this particular kit.  LOL!  Thanks for the visit.

As always, I so look forward to our conversations.  It brings me great pleasure.  Thank you Bish!  In reference to the scheme, Mrs. Toshi likes the box cover art Stuka with the yellow motif.  She said that scheme really stands out.  She also wants to take me to Hobby Lobby to purchase the Yellow color plus a few other acrylic paints that I will need.  I can't argue with that.  Mrs. Toshi spoils me too much.  LOL!

I really must get one of these, my collection just is not complete without a 32nd 87B. But i would liek to get the revell kit as well to correct the shape issues on the Trump one. I just can't live with thos,e not on a Stuka.

But i have been looking closely at your sprue pics Toshi. I can see the one large bomb for the fuselage and the 4 small ones for the wings, is there another one that i can't spot.

Edit: Ok, never mind, i see what they have done. thats a lot of extra bombs.

There are half a dozen or so 87B-2 in eBay.  Check it out.  The kit allows the builder to choose between three types of bombs.

When you get to the P-39, I have some pics of one in the collection in Madras.  Be happy to send them along to you.   Don't know how much help they will be.  Just PM me an email.

Nice start on this one

I too have always been fascinated by the Stuka. I have the Hasegawa 1/48 Ju87B2 in my stash and will, as usual, marvel at your WIP.

Someday I may feel I've amassed enough skill to actually post another of my aircraft builds on this forum but, in the meantime, you and the many other expert aircraft kit builders continue to provide me with intruction and inspiration while I eagerly view the progress of your builds.

Ye, i spotted the other bombs. At first i thought the middle ones, SC 250's, were the smaller SC 50's. I then saw all those smaller bombs. It looks like they give you 10 small ones and two of the middle ones. That lot would make for a nice dio.

Ye, i have seen the Trump kit a plenty. The Revell kits seem hard to find.

Mike

To 1943Mike,

I'd love to see your Stuka build posted.  That would be great!  My builds are full of mistakes, my models as well as myself are no where near an experts build.  I started with a Monogram 1:48 P-61 Blackwidow, my very first build.  I knew I was way out of my league but, by continued posting, and feedback, I was able to grow as a modeler.

I just looked back at that build and I shook my head, laughed, and gaped.  But I looked at my other builds and have seen the baby step progress that I've made in my humble opinion.

As you well know, our brothers and sisters here on this very forum are nothing short of a family.  As a family, I took in all critiques good and bad to the next level, to the best of my meager abilities.  I can wish you only the best and you have my undivided attention as well as my support.  So please don't feel like your build is not worthy enough to post.  As a new member, I should be as such.  Thank you so much 1943Mike for your support, read and replies as you just don't know how much it means to me!

Yes, the Trumpeter kits aplenty, I see no Revell 1:32 Stuka.  The only Revell/Monogram Stuka I see is the old 1:48 mold.  If you do see it, I would recommend that you immediately pull the trigger and purchase it.

There are the odd 21st Century kit around as well, and apparently that would work to. There is a correction set for the Trump kit, but its pricey and still needs detail added to match the Trump kit. 48th doesn't do it for me, i have enough 72nd Stuka's to keep me going and would just like to add a couple more 32nd and maybe another 24th to the collection.

So how are you getting on, i imagine you must have that engine wrapped up by now.

I'm just getting up to that process.  In the next steps are mounting the engine and cowling together.  Then on to the cockpit.

Toshi-  your P-39 pics are on the way.....along with a couple of teasers.  Edit your previous post and get rid of the email address in it.  Have you loaded in for any future pics you might want.

Can't wait to see the finished powerplant on this one.

Sir, thank you so much.  I really appreciate the assistance.  As for my email address, I did that on purpose.  If anyone wants to contact me via email, I'm more than happy to show the address.  I have Mrs. Toshi actually helping me with that as I write this.  She helps me in all aspects in my new hobby.  Once again, thank you so much and thank you for the read and reply.
