I am absolutely amazed! This is stunning! Very, very, very impressive work you've got here. I dream of this standard in my aircraft modelling. Huzzah!  :D

Thanks again dudes!!!

BlackTulip109

I may have missed it

BUT

can you share how you painted that "camo-effect" on the wings??

Thanks

Yes!

Started with the standard "splinter camo", followed by a clear gloss(sealer)...then a coat of hair spray. Once the hair spray was dry, I sprayed a couple thin coats of light grey. A stiff brush and some water to "chip" away most of the paint...then some more light misting of light grey.

YEARSSSS ago I saw that scheme in some obscure French language book on German Bombers of WW2 in a military History Bookstore I used to go to in Skokie, Illinois.

I LOVE WINTER and DESERT camo patterns and YOU sir have done a magnificent job on that HE-111.

Congratulations!!!!Big Smile

Almost looks like the wings have 'winterish' camo on them...

I just have to say Fermis, that out of all the fantastic camo schemes I've seen you paint this one is definitely one of your most tremendous. That you were able to pull off such a complicated scheme is a credit to your marvelous skills. Just some really fabulous work. Thank You for sharing your He-111 with us.

Yeah, I wish I could find out more about the scheme...from what I've read the on,y thing for sure is that it was applied during the BoB and KG55 was the unit involved...

Yep, absolutely beautiful, a paint scheme I've never seen before.  I can also see where your concern about the significant panel lines is validated, I suspect in that scale that is a real design challenge.

Wow!  Is that a unit badge of some sort you added?

Yup...a griffon...only two decals on this thing!

Got 'er finished up, late last night.

It's only been 10 days shy of 3 months, since I've finished anything!!!

In the same time frame, previous to this, I finished 15!!!

Summer is dumb!

Anyway...

Wow...this has been a real study in applying a very unusual scheme...can't say that I've ever seen anything quite like this...very well done...

fermis

I gave myself a day off, and a pair of easy/short days, so I could get in some bench time. Summer weekends get planned for me, so it seems....anyway...

Getting closer!

About ready to unmask, add some fiddlies, and finish it off!

Outstanding work as usual fermis, your eyes are a hell of a lot better than mine to work on that jeweler scale. I must say, the 111 airframe is the Spitfire of bombers.

Thanks you, sir!

Still rockin the 20/20+!!!

And...I can't say that I don't agree with you on the 111/Spit comparison!

I got to get up close and personal with the one that was doing the airshow circuit a while back (before it crashed, obviously). It was the first I had ever seen or heard of the 111. Fell in love with it and wished there was a kit of it (my modeling world was very small back then!). Next visit to the department store...there was the new Revell kit...bought and built immediately!!! I'll have to dig a bit, but I know I have pics of the plane.

Goat Boat

After seeing this build, I was almost tempted to take my airfix 111 off it's shelf and bin it (In my defence, it was brush painted while at sea, and was one of the first models I've built). Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing when the masks come off!

Agree...I actually DID throw mine out...Confused
