Hey thanks Toshi, the next museum piece hopefully will be the 1/48 A-37B Dragonfly if it doesn't wear me down LOL! This is practice for the upcoming Academy F-4C in 1/48 of course! It will replace my old brush painted Revell F-4 from the distant past.

Ah Toshi, another nice job on the B-17. It makes my 26'' wingspan 1/48 B-17 look like a B-52! I, being Mr. Big Hands, am envious of your cute little guy! Keep up the good work, always watching!

Nice job Toshi and another fast build. That scale gives you lots of display room.

Someone mentioned the Me262 and reminds me of a story from my boss at my first job I had right after high school. He was a P-38 recon pilot but his buddy was a Fortress driver. He told me of many war stories that left me speechless like the one where a B-17 was blown apart by a head on pass from a Me262.

Sadly he passed away just I had completed college and had gone into the police academy back in 1976. We keep loosing these old warriors every day and very soon all will be gone.

Thank you very much.  This does give me lots of room and then I come home with a C-54D Skymaster!  LOL!  The Me262 with all it's short comings was still a formidable aircraft, way ahead of it's time.  

Yes, we loose these warriors like your boss the P-38 Lightning pilot!  As General Douglas McCarthur once said; "Old warriors never die.  They just fade away"!  Thank you for sharing this story.

Very nice job on that Fort! Paint job is superb. I have an affinity for Forts cause my dad was a belly turret gunner in B17, He said he had the best view in the plane. He also said it did his heart good to see the P-51's nearby. I asked him if he ever saw an ME 262, and he just smiled and said "not for long".

I'd never known they had a 1/144th-scale B-17. I think some model company is making noises about putting out a 1/32nd-scale B-17, which would be a huge model indeed.

Nice build there, and also a cute grandson! How old is he?

Toshi, you never fail to amaze me! Great job on the little guy.    My 1/48 B-17 is the elephant in the room with a 29" wingspan. I think I should have gone 1/72 and moved to the B-36 area of the museum! lol!

I'm happy that you think my B-17G Flying Fortress turned out well.  I was surprised at the scale in which the B-17G was.  I didn't know what to expect!  The hardest part I had in building "Mercy's Madness" were the clear parts, trying not to get cement on it, and the guns.  The guns were just little sticks.  I could have used toothpicks.  LOL!  So I drilled small holes and inserted the guns with CA.  Thank you for always supporting my builds, it means so much to me!

The thing I like about 1/144 scale is that the whole process is simplfied.  If you build them "out of the box" - its simply: build, paint, decal, DONE !

I like the olive drab / neutral grey scheme on the B-17.  You've done a great job with it.

The thing I like about 1/144 scale is that the whole process is simplfied.  If you build them "out of the box" - its simply: build, paint, decal, DONE !
