Haven't decided yet on the access door Jim, I'm planning to put a hinge, so i can prop it open or close it. Thanks for the compliments!

Nice work! One of my favorite warriors! I have the exact kit sitting on my desk, fully painted, just waiting for me to get my rear in gear and add some arms to it.

Intersting idea about the magnets, but I am curious about the access door that would cover the ladder that extends from that opening on the left side

*******

On my workbench now:

It's all about classic cars now!

Why can't I find the "Any" key on my keyboard?

Impressive! Imagine what you could do with an airbrush. Its worth it. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think they'll ever wholly replace it with the F-35, not if the folks in Tucson (and elsewhere) have their way.

Thanks Jim, It's also one of my favorite planes, such a badass, it is even feared by the taliban. Too bad they plan to replace it with the F-35.

Great build, especially for a first-timer! I remember the very first model I built (as a kid) was the usual glue-bomb with a sloppy paint job. It was nowhere near that high-quality of a build. And the A-10 is always one of my favorite planes, so I just had to take a look. You got her loaded for bear!

Everything looks good to me. You will find as by now likely know, every project you will learn a thing or two which will help you improve. Mistakes are never wasted. keep building. As for photography goes, good lighting, lots of depth of field will give the viewer a chance to examine you work closer and help yourself.

Well done

Thank you John for your comment,

Being a newbie I'm still undecided to have it in flight of on the ground, that's why the wheel doors are off.

Point taken, thanks for the advice.

Looking forward to show some of my works for my improvement,

you guys are awesome!

Lich King, for a first model you started out great.  I've judged a couple of model contests, and I see nothing majorly wrong with this kit.  From a judges perspective, leaving the nose wheel doors off would be an issue, but I understand why you would want to be able to cycle the landing gear. Whistling Awesome first effort, and I look forward to being amazed more in the future as you get more experience.  Welcome to the forums!

Lich King, if that is your first model, that is absolutely fantastic.  And you hand painted the build.  Wow!  I see no issues with build quality, decal placement, and placement with bombs.  It's always cool to see an A-10 fully loaded!  Great job on your first build, I wish my first build looked like that!

My first kit - A10 Thunderbolt II
Posted by Lich King on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 1:55 AM

Good day guys,

just want to share my first kit, a bad ass plane that needs no introduction.

Box

This is my first work in building scale models. Everyting is hand painted as I do not have an airbrush. I used tamiya acrylics, tamiya enamels, gundam markers and mr Hobby for the topcoat.

The model is based on the 2003 Operation Iraqi Freedon. As you can see in my work, I have a lot to improve on, especially my decals.

The cockpit is not aligned and I am yet confused to build this on the ground or in flight.

1

The warthog decals need a little more work.

2

The bombs are a mix and match. The green is a custom mix. I overdone it by placing all bombs that is in the kit, rookie mistake.

3

Finally I decided to use neodymium magnets to I can rmove the wheels whenever I want to

4

more pics

5

Ready for flight? Maintainance?

7

I'm hoping for your comments/ suggestions and tips for my first kit.

If all goes well, I'll post more of my work.

Till then my friends,

Enjoy,
