Hasagawa KI-84 I . 1:48 Completed

The Kit.

Cockpit with Eduard Zoom. Before it is swallowed up by the fuselage.

Coming together.

Gunsight installation.

Ready for primer and bodywork.

Painted with Allclad and Testors model Master Enamel paint.

Trying liquid mask through a .025 hypo needle for the chipping effect. Not too awful for my first day. I like the way it came out.

Decals from an old Aeromaster sheet and kit decals.

Ready for final assembly, clear coats, washes and stuff.

Thanks for checking in.

Cheers.

Thank you for the kind words!!

The KI-84 I is finished. Hasagawa Kit (09364) , Eduard Zoom set (FE297) of photoetch parts for the cockpit. Painted with Allclad Laquer and Testors model Masters enamel . Decals are from Aeromaster sheet (48-040) and the set supplied in the kit. The Eduard canopy mask (EX 060) was a little off. First time thats been the case for me.

Very nice work you got there! Have you built Tamiya's Ki-61-Id Hien 1:48? I saw from FSM's back cover that it comes with transparent left body part, so you can show all the interior if you so wish. Take a look here if you haven't got one:

Thank you for the kind words. I really enjoy seeing all the fantastic work here in the forums. Trying to learn and get better. Thank you all for sharing!!

I have seen Tamiya's new KI-61. It is a great looking model. I have two Hasagawa examples in the stash already. I guess a third couldn't hurt!!

Cheers.

Your Frank is a handsome aircraft.  It fits in well with your IJN/IJA shelf.  Beautiful Work!

Beautiful job on a beautiful aircraft Stephen. Yes

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
