Toshi

lol!  I have a very good reason to do without display cases.  And it’s called Ezra, my walking/running/climbing/very noisey except when he’s taking a nap or sleeping one year old grandson. lol!  I currently have two cats and no dogs.  Mrs. Toshi wants a dog and I told her; “No dogs” until she cares for the cats 100% of the time.  lol!  Sadly, Mrs. Toshi‘s favorite cat just past away.  She is very heartbroken.

Is it a Hellcat?  As F6F’s were Hellcat and F4F’s were Wildcat.  Yes, twenty three year old decals will tend to fail but Art Inscructor seems like a very masterful and creative modeler.  I look forward to your new posts of newly commissioned items!

Your friend, Toshi

Now that you have only one cat left and Mrs. Toshi is very heartbroken, you should console her by giving her a puppy, a Golden Retriever puppy. I believe both Mrs. Toshi and Ezra will be full of joy. I raised one since he was 2 months old and now he's nearly 6 years old. And I love him so much!

Oh yes, it's a Hellcat not Wildcat, my mistake. You probably have seen them by now.

All the best,

MM

Yes, I’m quite sure I don’t have room in my condo for IKEA cases plus, my one year old grandson would run them over with his toys.  lol!  He already tries to do that with our cats.  lol!

Ah, thirty three year old decals will not work but I will look forward to your other motorized aircraft commissioned works from Artama.

Your friend, Toshi

I see, you have some reasons to do without display cases. Can your one year old grandson walk already? And apart from cats do you have dogs?

There's F6F Wildcat 1:48 from Fujimi which is 23 years old. Art Instructor returned all of its decals today saying that they don't work at all. Soaking in water for hours and they never let go. They still look good and I thought they would work but they didn't. My new post will show how he built it without the decals.

Gamera

Those are some nice additions there MM, I esp like the MiG-3.

Funny, I was watching a Thai horror movie, 'P', just Sunday.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Gamera! Coming next will be Yak-9K 1:48 from ICM.

Was the movie scarry? 'P' in Thai means "ghost".

Oh thanks, I had no idea what P meant and didn't think to look it up.

Yeah it was scary but I mostly felt sorry for the poor girl who was turned into the monster. Great film, Hollywood seems to just make the same movie over and over anymore so I've been watching a lot of Korean and Chinese films. I wish I could find more Thai stuff over here.

You sure have room for 3 Ikea "Detlof" cases as each takes only about 1.5 sq.ft. floor space. Its base is 43x37cm and it stands 1.64cm tall. You don't have to move over to Thailand to talk about models with me because we can talk about them here.

The F2A-2 is from Tamiya, its boxart bears English markings. But the box contains both British and American markings, if only the decals are still usuable. My friend bought it in 1984 for 51 Baht (about $2.50 then). That's 33 years ago! I don't think they will work. The 2 motorized planes 1:48 are Hayate (Frank) and Fw190 A3 given to me by my friend. There is another motorized Fw190 A3 which I got earlier from Luckymodel (HK) and commissioned it to another builder named "Artama" several months ago (along with some warships), still not finished.

Thanks so much for your kind comments on Art Instructor and my home. Have a nice day!

Thanks so much for your kind comments, Toshi. I'm glad you like them all - 4 warplanes from 4 nations. Art Instructor built these 4 warplanes and 3 another 1:35 armors in just 7 days. I asked him how late in the night he worked. He said it's 2-3AM and he woke up at 10-11AM. School is off now so he build models full time.

I'll need new Ikea cases pretty soon because the 3 cases I bought earlier this year are near full now despite three-fold shelf additions (from 4 to 12 shelves each). My 1:48 WWII warplanes still in stock include 1 Soviet, 4 German, 6 American (if Brewster F2A-2 is American) and 6 Japanese. 2 of these come with propeller action (motorized).

MM

Wow, art instructor definately works hard for you.  You not only have a great builder but a dedicated one at that.

Well now, that is extremely impressive.  I’m very jealous of you.  lol!  I wish I had room for 3 Ikea cases with three-fold shelf additions (From four to twelve shelves each) like yours.  I’ve seen photos of your beautiful home and am happy for you to be able to make such additions.  I’m wondering if Mrs. Toshi and I need to make a move to Thailand and move to where you’re located so that we can be neighbors and talk about models all day and night?  lol!

The F2A-2 Brewster Buffalo could be American or Soviet depending on which country decal you’re builders are going to utilize or whichever you choose them to since you commission them.  As for the Japanese aircraft with the motorized propeller action, that is very cool!  Good luck to you sir and congratulations on your expansion!

Thanks so much for your kind words, modelcrazy. With most decals unusable due to old age, I think he did his best with substitute decals and masked paintings.

This weeks addition catches my fancy. Honestly, all of them.  The Mig, Focke Wulf, Ki-27, and the Mustang are all my favorites.  They have been excellently assembled by art instructor!

You have a beautiful collection that I envy that will be fantastic additions to your museum.  I also like this lot as they are all WWII aircraft!

Nice additions to your collection MM. Your builder did a great job.
