Japanese A6M2 Model 21 Type 0 Interior Color For Pearl Harbor

So I Want To Build A Japanese A6M2 From Pearl Harbor And Was Wondering If The Interior Was A Certain Color Or Did All Zero's Have The Same Interior Color Throughout The War.

I think it should be that interior green.  Tamiya has it in bottle form.

i read somewhere that the infamous Aotake anti-corrosion coating was applied to areas other than the cockpit.  Lots of differing opinions, but the Zero cockpit should be green.

Nakajima made Zeroes had the cockpit in a color that was similar to RAF Grey Green. That is the color that Tamiya makes in their “expansion line”.

Mitsubishi made Zeroes used a green in the cockpit that was similar to US interior green. Gunze makes that color , as well as the separate Nakajima color in their paint line.

Each company also used slightly different colors for the exteriors of the aircraft that they built. On green Zeroes the easiest way to tell the producers apart is at the tail. On Nakajima made Zeroes, the color demarcation line sweeps upwards at the tail planes, while Mitsubishi made Zeroes have a straight line from the end of the wing root to the tip of the tail on the rudder.

Look at this site for far more detailed information on the subject.

As Stik said, there are two interior colors depending on the manufacturer.  Here is a review of White Ensign Models paints that were compared with actual Zero relics:

This can be used as a color comparison with other manufacters' paints.

WIP:  Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 73rd BS B-26, 40-1408, torpedo bomber attempt on Ryujo

Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 22nd BG B-26, 7-Mile Drome, New Guinea

Minicraft 1/72 B-24D as LB-30, AL-613, "Tough Boy", 28th Composite Group

Nice! Great info guys. I always painted my zero cockpits XF-71. Learn something new everyday.
