I'm starting to run out of words that best describe what I see in your builds Joe. You're really showin' us all up here though I can tell ya that. YesYesYesYes

Thanks Joe. Way too kind.

Joe, looks like another masterpiece. I’m glad to hear the AK Real Colors are working for you... I think I’m going to pick some up when I start a Soviet plane in a few builds. I’ve hitched myself to Mission Models for about every other country, but I don’t mind their consistency.

Let me ask you really quick, can you brush paint the AK colors at all?

Thanks Max. I’m not a fan of Mission. I liked them initially but then I started having mixtur/consistency issues. Perhaps I should give them another try. AK is just so much better though. Awesome paints. I haven’t tried brush painting with them yet.

I just found a bunch of Gunze paints I forgot I had. Gonna have to go through those first.

as I said before....Gorgeous!

On the heels of our last back and forth, I immiediately went home and looked for my kit, and it turns out, I have the Hasegawa version, and what caught my eye was the striped nose!  I had started to build this exact plane!  Unfortunately, when I put it away because of one reason or another, I somehow lost the canopy.  So before I can pick it up again, I need to find a replacement.....

Thanks Justin. I can check my spare parts box for a spare. I know the Eduard kit came with two. Do you want to try to shoehorn it on there?

Tanker - Builder

Well;

So Far so Good. You caught my interest. I don't build planes often But BubbleTop Jugs and FW 190 Butcherbirds are my faves. In prop planes the only other one is a P-51. this is as far as Fighters are concerned. Oops! I forgot one, the Supermarine SeaFire! Tanker-Builder

Thanks for stopping in Tanker.

Another museum quality build. Really like how the weathered yellow turned out. Yours looks just like I’d imagine it to be. Also noticed the missing white stripes on the side insiginia To me what sets your work apart is the consistency of excellence and your willingness to share your techniques which I feel I have greatly benefited from. Thanks for sharing my friend!

Thanks Robert. It’s just a drop or two of red added to the yellow. You noticed the painted over white part of the fusel cross. Nice eye! Note the pic at beginning of the thread, it’s missing or painted over.

Joe - I take the magazine and go to the forums daily, to gain insight, the chance to learn from others and see excellent models. You and the other advanced modelers that share your knowledge, build information and photos are just the best guys.

This latest 190 is another really well done example of super skills, thanks for the great post and photos. Some good things happen when you get turned loose in your shop.

Thank you Patrick. Your kind words are appreciated. I’m glad you get use out of my build threads. I hope you’re doing well my friend

I finished this turkey last night.  To recap, It's the new tooled Eduard Fw 190 A-4 in the JG 1 markings of Eberhard Burath in the Spring of 1943.  Burath was not an experten uber ace, but he did manage to shoot down 6 B-17 bombers.

Other than a few hicupps, this was an enjoyable build.  It's a 1000 times better than their old Anton series. I went completely out of the box, except for the Montex masks.  I used the AK Real Colors set which I'm really starting to love. I think they nailed the RLM colors.  I intend to get more of these sets.

I hope to try Eduard's A-8 soon.  I even have the markings in mind.
