The two float assemblies look far from easy.  You nailed it though.  I'm running out of words to describe the quality of your work.  Not only are they beautiful models but you finish them in an alarming rate.  Do you happen to know the hours invested in this build?

 

Thank youfor the kind words.  I don't keep track of hours.  I'd venture to guess this one took about three weeks of off and on work.  There was a small hold up waiting for paint masks.

I never knew anything like this existed. I don't know much about sea going aircraft but this one does have a interesting look to it. Excellent build!

     Here's a plane few know about! You just re-knidled my interest in the F-6-F. I have always felt that it was a handsome bird, designed to do it's job! Now your model comes along with the mods to a Real different version that was no "Paper Panzer".

     There were many that flew for a time while the top brass were thinking about a cheaper to operate long range Recon Bird! With multiple Engines!

       But, I do NOT like your job on this model !!! I love it! A very well worn salt air stained bird. Thank you for a fine build !!!! The only negative I see is this and it's a niggling thing. Your weatherimg is spot on except on the bottom of the floats! They should have wear pattern from bow to stern and the panel lines muddled along with a subtle wearing away of the red stripe near their nose.

 

Thanks, yeah recon birds, much less float planes, really arent my thing.  The guy it's going to wanted it clean without weathering and chipping, otherwise the floats whould have been dinged up more. I did add some fading streaks by the float poles.

One of my all-time favorite "not quite" aircraft of the era, and you made gorgeous work of her. Well done, Joe, and the base adds that 'extra' dimension.

IIRC it was a one-off...converted as a test model, and then converted back when the course of the war more-or-less eliminated the need for its particular niche.

Great build. Again your painting and weathering skills really make the build pop
