I cant recall the kit of this 1/48 Val, think it may be Fujimi.

Not a bad kit but I mostly wanted to experiment with creating a stressed wingskin effect on it, came out ok-ish.

If I'm not mistaken, that's the Hasegawa kit Theuns. I had one of these in the stash for years.

This turned out better than "ok-ish" though I can tell you that!! Yes

Love the paint and weathering effects.

Fujimi or Hasegawa, it turned out quite nicely! How did you do the stressed skin look?

I just built this kit early this year, it's the Hasegawa kit. Very nice kit and you killed it with the stressed look. Very nice work.

Great looking model.  I imagine we may see manufacturers starting do stressed skin.  You nailed it - looks great.

Thanks,

On my 1/24 airfix typhoon it does come with oilcanned skin texture.

On this one I just scraped the indentations with a round blade scalpel, they scribed the lines and did the rivets, nothing complex.

Theuns, I think that it turned out great.  The paint chipping on the cowl is very realistic.  Do you moind if I ask what did you use for your bare natural metal?

Your stressed skin looks real good. I am not that adventurous yet with my models!

Great looking!

I know this took a lot of patience but the result is just super.

The stress technique is demonstrated on you tube.

Love the look. I tried it successfully on my 1/72 type IX U-boat, simi successfully on a Litorial Class and not so successfully on a plane (don't remember which one, probably because it didn't work out).

I'd like to try it on a B52 or some such AC that shows it prominently.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I st used hardwarestore alluminium rattlecan spray over grey primer. It comes out quite shiny but with the weathering it tones down rather nice to a used alclad tipe look.

As for the chipping on the cowl, i used the sponge chip tecnique
