| Andy, Great job! I am curious to know how you did the cut away, and how you gave the exhaust pipes that worn out burnt look, as well as the exhaust fumes? Did you have to mix any paints when airbrushing? Sorry for all of the questions. I am just curious so that I can perform the same great techniques. Thanks! Brad Brad, The cutaway was done by drilling small holes in the shape of the hole and and connecting the "dots" with an xacto. Then had to clean up the edges by sanding. The exhausts are photo etched pieces with a light spray of rust and black. The exhaust staining was a combo of thinned black paint and pastels. No paint mixing, really. The colors used were out of the bottle. Did have to use several shades of gray to get the "faded" look but the overall colors are dark gull gray over white. |
