Perfect look of the zero :) i have almost all Zero versions , trainer included but missing again the a6m5

I got the paint scheme done today, and finished assembling all the small pieces that are applied at the end. I am not satisfied with this build at all. Between work and other life events I have had a tight time frame, and I received a call this morning informing me that I will deployed to one of the larger wild fires going right now. So I have to get this done before Sat. morning because I don't know how long I'll be out.

What makes you unsatisfied with your build? If it's the time crunch don't worry about it. Gam is one of the most accommodating and forgiving (besides me of course) GB hosts LOL.

You do what you need to do and don't rush on that beautiful Zeek. Getting frustrated or being unsatisfied isn't worth it, it's just a model and you want to do your best.

Go get rid of that fire so we can get this smoke out of here. It's making it hard for me to breathe.

Hunter they're right dont worry at all about the time frame, just do your best work and it takes as long as it takes.

Would you mind if I threw my hat into the ring? I would like to do the Tamiya 1/48 A6M5c Zero. Here's a picture of her. This is my first Tamiya and third aircraft, I'm mostly a ship builder. I'll be using Eduard PE. I have wanted to try a Tamiya model so here I go.

Just got my first break...I was out on the line for almost 14 hours. I go back out in 6 hours.

Steve...you need to stay inside, the air quality is horrible. Last thing you need to do is irritate the situation.  Watch the news....you might see me on there lol

Hey Gam,

I'm checking in, just got back from a few weeks with my Mom in Montana.  Boy, one day its 94 degrees and can't see the end of your nose with all the smoke, then bam, twenty four hours later and its 44 degrees and sleeting rain.  Miss that funky Rocky Mountain weather, its a blessing.

I was able to get into a hobby shop and they had a bottle of IJN Kure Grey, so now I can start fully into the Akagi this next week.

Montana is somewhere I've got to see someday, too many westerns in my youth- I'd love to see it firsthand.

Some update about the Hien:

Trasfered in the bunke during last weeks , sanded , primed in grey and bottom black for metal paint with humbrol . 

Yesterday returned to the kitchen and used the vallejo air .. with brushes (they works too!) .Silver base and some panel variation. More i did after take pictures

Wow, that silver paint looks fantastic! 

Some great work happening here guys!! Looking forward to seeing these finished soon!! Within the next month or so I should be back here with my E7K1. Nearing the end of the project on my FW-190. Going to have to do some repairs and put back togetherrs on her as she's been knocked around a bit by my cat's adventurous/curious nature. That and the fact I shouldn't have put the container it is in where I did either

Lodni: Sure you're welcome! The GB does end at the close of the year though so you've got till Dec 31, 2017 to finish up. I noticed that the Midway GB ends in June of next year. Of course if you don't finish by the end of the year you're more than welcome to 'roll over' your kit to Japanese GB VII. 

Thank you Gamera! While do not want to 'superdetail' the kit, I would like to give the kit something resembling a decent cockpit. I am looking into some PE but I am inspired by Bsyamato's scratchbuilding work! Here is what I am starting off with:

Wow, when you said 'old' I thought you meant maybe 20-30 years old! I've never seen an Airfix box like that- this should be interesting. Good idea on replacing the decals-curious to see how you do this.
