Thanks Gam,

After applying the decals and a little weathering I attached the plane to the base and added some spray using cotton. I then sprayed Future to the cotton and will let that dry. I can then trim and form it a little more. I also added some more acrylic varnish to the water to deepen the look of the water. One of the wing decals broke while weathering but fortunately the kit come with extras.

Steve,

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Your water dio's just keep getting bigger and greater! You have definitely raised the bar. Wonderful job sir! Bow DownBow Down

LOL I thought that would surprize you LOL. Just a heads up, I already have 2 kits in mind.

The Hasegawa 1/72 Nakagima KI-84 Frank, this is a 2 kit boxing, and the Dragon 1/72 Type 95 Ha Go light tank which I'm really excited about.

I might even get to the Takao this year.

So you can just put me down for those now if you don't mind. Wink

Lol guys I'll try to get the new GB up this weekend. Wink

And wow Hunter, a LaGG-3?!!? I've seen lots of American, British, and Chinese aircraft captured by the Japanese but never a newer Soviet plane like that (only older stuff they'd sold to the Chinese like Polikarpovs).

I found that to be odd also. I think that's why I bought it...plus it will be a fun build. And take your time on the new GB Cliff, Steve and I are fine waiting awhile...not to long LOL

Fantstic finish Steve. Love the water effects.

Got some more work on Valerie. All decals are on for markings from the Kaga.

The decals were provided by TJ form his Hasegawa spares so thanks again TJ! The tail lines were a bit short on this Fujimi kit

A 10/0 brush and white paint took care of the issue.

I brush painted the engine and prop with MM Metalizers and polished them up a bit then gave them a black wash of The Detailer and the back of the prop blades were painted MM Hull Red. Much of the engine will be covered up by the cowl so I did not spend too much time here.

Got the bombs painted . I added fin braces to the bigger one. Next step will be weathering and masking and painting the greenhouse.

Thanks Gamera.

Added note:

I have been a faithful Image Shack user for the last three years and never had an issue their customer service support didn't address within a few minutes. Lately my pictures are sometimes blank on the IS page but will appear once I click on them but will go blank once I get out of the frame. I can also download pictures without a problem. I have reported the issue 3 times in the last week to the Customer Support link and only received an automated response, nothing else.

My subscription is good till Jauary 31, 2018 but looks like I will not renew if their customer support is so crappy and ignores a customer needing tech support!

I used Post Image to post these pictures on this thread and Im very happy with the ease of use the site offers and most important it's free.

@Steve,

Your Mavis looks fantastic! Very realistic water spray!

@PJ,

Great job on the Val, and I have to agree with you on tamiya paints. Great paint and very durable.

@Hunter,

I have never seen a Russian plane in Japanese markings! Great find, and I look forward to seeing you build this one.

PJ,

First...The Val looks amazing. Great job hand painting the engine and prop. Second, I have had the same issue with ImageShack the past few times I have logged into my account. I to contacted customer service via email and as of this time have not received a response from them. Kinda surprised, because I have never had any issues with ImageShack. Again, excellent job on the Val.

I haven't had an issue yet, everthing is working well. I do need to look at another site as a backup though. Post Image you say?

Steve,

I was kinda surprised that this was occuring. When you pointed me towards "IS" I was grateful that we weren't having all the troubles of "PB". I am still very pleased with "IS" and will continue to use them. I think you are onto something with looking at Post Image as a backup. I'm going to look inti that as well.

I've been meaning to put my stuff on a "backup" for a while, especially after I removed everything from PB. PI may just be the ticket.

Nice work on that Val. Whilst we're discussing 'foreign' aircraft in Japanese service, I've finally made a start on my little 1/72 Hasegawa Bf 109E-7.

This was the kit box:

Current progress:

I'm almost ready to close up the fuselage. I just need to blank off the lower fuselage intake and paint around that area. This one is less detailed than my previous 109, but I've added a few left over parts from the photoetched set I used for it, including rudder pedals which look much better. The harnesses this time are just tape, as they're  very visible but hard to see in detail through the canopy framing, I chose not to buy aftermarket for them.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

It just bothers the heck out of me that they ignore a paying customer's emails reporting an issue on their end. I was a pretty happy camper till this hapenned and they will not get my $ come renewal time. Post Image seems to work very well and it's free, not having pop up adds and junk being loaded on like PB.

Thanks guys for the positive comments. It's very well appreciated.

Hunter

So you are having the same issue then? I see it's not an isolated case. I sometimes either refresh the browser or get out completely and log back in and the pictures are visible. Something is going wacko with their system and makes it worse when the emails are ignored. Imagine then that something more serious happens where you can't use the system and ignore your emails reporting the problem.

Thank you for the link PJ...I still can't believe they haven't contacted either one of us about this issue. When I logged on today to post some build photos it took almost 25 minutes for my already downloaded photos to show up. The photos I downloaded today showed up as soon as I downloaded them.

TJ: Great job there on the pre-shading. Looks perfect.

Tony: Nice work there, she's coming right together.

PJ, Hunter: Thanks for the warning guys. I've been pulling photos from my old PhotoBucket account and reloading them up to Image Shack. Guess I should let it ride a little longer before I totally commit. Sad

Where I am, and I've been for over an month. I should be able to finish before the end of the year but I've had a bad case of the modeling blahs and just can't get motivated. Sad
