Thanks everyone, glad to see so many people interested in WWI aircraft!  I must admit, I do not plan to run a third KOTS GB at this time, as other projects would keep me from it for quite a while.  Perhaps someday down the road?

Frank, I really love to finish my Fokker, but now mom got really mad at me, and I can't build models for a while. However, I will DEFINATELY join a 3rd GB! I'd love to see one! Sorry about that, but there's nothing I can do.

Frank, is there going to be another Knights of the air GB? Mate and I are rearing each other about our 1/72 Camels we have and I told him bout this GB. Didn't realize it was finished now.Sigh [sigh]

Frank and Mobious,

Thanks for the comments.Big Smile [:D]  I still want to do some weathering, but I have a couple of reviews that need to get finished in the short term.

Brad,

That is some very fine work indeed! Thumbs Up [tup]

Frank,

Any thoughts about a KOTS III?

Scotty, Great looking build, I thought it was the bigger Eduard offering too. Very nice work in the small scale.Thumbs Up [tup]

Brad, That has to be one of the finest examples of craftsmanship. Truely a stunning work, and on such a beautiful aircraft too. Thanks for posting Thumbs Up [tup]

Brad- That is a stunning example of the SE5, simply gorgeous!  Your painting style and weathering are exemplary, can't really think of any other way to describe it.  Beautiful work! Approve [^]

I went ahead and added this one to the finished list on page 1, and shall add it to the gallery of finished models over in the aircraft forum.  Thanks again Brad!

Frank, I admit, I've been slacking. I've had so many things to do in school, building a sherman and now my figures obsession has put AC on the back burner. Looking at that sopwith, I can't handle putting it with that beautiful Fokker. Thus, I'm going to Complete the Fokker Dr. 1 probably within 2 weeks, but my goal is next weekend. I havn't had much time to airbrush, another setback. Thus, I'll put it on a brass rod, still an in-flight display, but no sopwith. I am sorry for not being around, but I'll do my best to get Richtoffen flying!

Excellent work there Scott!  If I hadn't seen the photos of the bits parked next to a quarter, I would have sworn that was 1/48 scale.  Glad to add this one to page 1, and to the aircraft post! Approve [^]

Frank,

Once again, I have been away for too long, and am now a day late with this.  Lots of life evnets taking place lately, most good, but some not so good.  Anyway, I did wrap up the Eduard SPAD S.XIII today.  Here are the completed photos for all to enjoy.  Creidt me or not, your KOTS Group Builds have been a lot of fun, and I hope that you consider doing another one as I am about to start an Eduard 1/48 Albatros D.V.

This build reminded me of why I prefer 1/48 for WWI kits. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Guy- Very sorry to hear about your younger brother, I did not know about that.  I cannot even imagine losing my little brother.

Gentlemen, It has truly been an honor hosting this group build and watching you progress through your builds.  Thank you for making this what it is.  I am really looking forward to postng the photos over in aircraft, to show everyone what you have done.  I salute you all! Approve [^]

Stephen, my prayers are with you and your family, my friend. As Frank said, I second your final statement. I lost my younger brother, Danny. To this day i still struggle to remember my last words to him. It upsets me when i see family falling out with family. Life is too short and you never know whats round the corner.

Frank, Great GB. I really loved it. Also watching all the other great builds coming together. A real learning experience.

Cheers mate,

My pleasure Mo, wouldn't have been the same without your incredible builds here.  I am really looking forward to seeing you work your magic on a Schwalbe! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Stephen- I am quite relieved to hear that things are looking up for your family.   Hope things continue to improve for everyone.  Great advice at the end of your post, I shall remember those words. Approve [^]

Greetings fellow KotsII-ers.

Its official The DH 2 is still many weeks from being finished.  But there are others I finished during the GB.  So no worries.  I will post images of the DH 2 when done.  In the mean time your kind words, thoughts and prayers have done some righteous good.  My wife's elderly mother (Alzheimer's) has come through her crisis (upper respiratory infection) well.  We have her back home on oxygen but she's much better healthwise.  My young second cousin was in a head-on crash.  (Their car was forced off the road) and they hit a telephone pole then an embankment.  Her driver is in a coma and has a broken back.  My cousin has severe head trauma.  Nerve damage and can't walk.(Mother of 2 children).   She is speaking, knows her mother (my cousin) and her children.  As of yesterday she was talking.

Tell your family that you love them.  Life is short and in the blink of an eye things change.  Model on good folk!  I'll be outbound at Angels 5.

Frank, KOTS II has been a tremendous learning experience and loads of fun. Thanks so much for hosting. Hope to see another.

Brad, very nice paint work on the SE5a.

Stephen, hope the family members are feeling better and get well soon. Thanks for all the help.

Really great looking subjects and top notch work from all, thanks for sharing.

Alas I got no further with the Aeroclub RE8, and this is as far as I got with the Roden 1/48 SE5a:

To echo Bob, it has been a pleasure, gentlemen!

Man, that's a lot of rigging in such a small space.  Don't know how you do it Stephen.  Don't worry about the end date, take care of your family.  We'll be here when you get back.

Thanks Frank.

I don't think this will be finished by the end date.  But I'll keep plugging away.  I post images when finished.  You know me can't bear to leave one undone.

Stephen,

I hope your family members are OK, and feel better soon!  That must be a lot of stress on you right now.  I hope things get back to normal soon for you and yours.

Nice finish on the DVII, Aaronw. Very nice paint work. The painting of the lozenge fabric came out very well. Thanks for posting.

Steven, sorry to hear about the family. Hope it's not anything too serious and both of your family members get well soon. Looking forward to seeing progress on the DH2. Spectacular job on the rigging.

Struggling with the the rigging here.  It is just taking a long time. So far I have 22 of 62 strands done.  Having two family members in the hospital has distracted me from progressing faster.  Life intervenes

Sorry to hijack, and I hope I'm not breaking any rules here, but this thread just seems like the most obvious place to ask -

The work I've seen here has been outstanding and so inspiring that I'm going to have a go at a few WWI kites myself! My question is, does anyone know where I can get MisterKit paints in the UK? Aero-club is the only link I've found but they don't have anything in stock.

Thanks and sorry for the OT

 hi,

i think you'll have problems finding it in the uk if aeroclub hasn't got any,and the last time i ordered from them some it took 2-3 months for the whole order to turn up!

you could also try ordering direct from italy.

to be honest i would try and find alternatives as the colours are made by other people.....just under different names..............i have a whole load of the misterkit paints but i'm matching them to my preffered vallejo model air paints.

PM me if you want to know what colours i have or for more info.
