Owl: Love the idea but I said I wouldn't join anymore GBs this year until I finish some stuff and clear the work bench. Then I went and jumped in with Son of Medicine Man's Berny GB and The Real Red Baron's P-40 GB.

No more GBs for me and I mean it this time... 

I think I need to attend Alcoholic Anonymous meetings.... just one more drink and no more...

But ehm... now that the GB is going to end it's term next month, is there any plans for a second one, or a different kind of GB...? Hey, Somebody has got to pop the question, right?

wait? IM in the magazine?! Seriously? I havent yet got this months issue (mom is holding it hostage at home). That'd be really cool if I was!!

I was thinking of doing a "Forces of Nature" GB. Like thunder/lightning, comet, mirage, winds, etc. Basically any thing that has a name that deals with nature. What do you guys think of the idea?

Here's the scale plans i'm using to help me rescribe the Tomcat. They came from SAM Publications Tomcat book.

I also got the right gun piece in place. Right now i'm rescribing the wings and finishing sanding some areas.

Ok so here's some progress pics. I hated the engine exhaust on the Tomcat. So I bought the Steel Beach covered ones. They're even set to where one is open and the other is closed like it would be on a parked Tomcat. Here's the pics.

Right now I'm in the process of finishing up an Eduard 1/48 Fokker DR.I for Marc's (wingnut) Great War GB. My He162 will be next, Miss Owl - promise, with pics to go along. Some progress has been made on it already, and after checking the time frame for this GB, looks like there'll be plenty of time for me to git 'er done with time to spare.

Stalled at the moment. Ive got all the framing on the canopy. Pilons on. Im starting to realise why this kit was so cheap. Im at the stage where im putting the last few bits and bobs on. then decals, then mount it.

Ive put it to one side as i dont know how to attach it to the mount.

Heres the mount. 

Ive decided to go with 1 tone forest (puke) green scheme. That way the diehard RNZAF guys dont start picking the camo apart (Im posting this on a kiwi forum too.)

The tiki on the belly is gonna be the hard part.

Heres my progress. Decided to silver over the canopy since a pilot would cost more than the kit.

Started on the white disc on the belly. Decided to go with the one tone low viz forest green.

75sqn logo to be painted in the next couple weeks.

Good luck with your studies Owl. I always enjoyed my history courses and hated chemistry. And now mostly what I do at work is wet chemistry...

I'd thought about contributing more than one build to this but too many GBs and too little time

I'm afraid I've been slacking on this GB... but I havn't forgotten..~!

how are things progressing for everyone? I fear my building time will be much lower this semester. With 4 out of my 5 classes being history courses, I have a lot of readings to do!

Finished it a couple nights ago. it was my mums christmas present (she asked for it) from 2009 lol.

Fine looking Wildcat you got there ,Casper. I like the one folded wing , creates an interesting display. I have a Tamiya 1/48 F4F-3 in the stash. Heard great things about the kit, now to find time to catch up on other projects to one day - build it.
