I had to make sure that your name was in bigger font to make sure everybody knows you are part of the GB now.

You might PM Aaron and ask him to lock this thread so no one inadvertantly posts their WIPs in here. Just a thought. It'll also cut down on confusion for our faithful viewers.

Carl- PERFECT!  I got you down for Panzer III Ausf M... now that gap is finally closed.  You just saved our lives!  We were told that our planet will be destroyed next year 2012 if all gaps are not closed.  I will update the list tonight and start a new official GB thread.

Mike- Welcome aboard!  If your wheels have been painted only, then it is not an issue for you to join this GB.  I am going to build Panzer III Ausf E from Cyber Hobby first but since you are going to do it then I will change my plan and build that StuG III Ausf F/8 first.  I will start a new GB thread tonight so we can have a fresh start so everybody don't have to scroll thru 17 pages. Big Smile

Guys- This is GREAT!  Two more have joined... I will let y'all know when the new thread is up and running.  TEN MORE HOURS...

OMG !!!!! Thats so Amazing !!!! I knew this GB was important !!! Stick out tongue

And people say it's just a hobby!!!

 dupes:

Why the "new" official thread? Just curious.

Since the teaser thread has already reached 17 pages, it was suggested that a new thread be started at the start of the GB. That way people won't have to slog through 17 pages of 'stuff' to get to the builds.

It's a clean slate, as it were...

Good idea . I had seen this thread B4 but never looked in to read it when i saw all the pages due to i thought it had alreadt started . Anyway , just more of my  >>>>>>>> Dunce

I started painting the wheels on a Panzer III Ausf. E from Cyberhobby, but that's all.  Too late to join? I'll post picutres soon. Also, I don't want to read through the 17 pages already on this forum, so is there anything in them I should know about? Rule changes, badges, etc.?

Carl, its your call.  I think Strum 33 would be great.  Since GB is going to last for a year so maybe you can build another one if you are having fun.  Nobody has signed up for Panzer III Ausf M as of now... you can look at first or second page where I listed all variants to give you better idea who and how many have signed up for each variant.

So far StuG III Ausf G and Panzer III Ausf L are going to be popular for this GB... can't wait to see all of your work.

Two more days... actually 27 hours to go. Big Smile

Andy thanks for the invite . I went thru your list of Pz III variants and the  Sturm-Infanteriegeschutz 33  caught my attention . I have it in my stash from Dragon , kit # 6042 .  Any one else building it ?

Carl Beer

CarlWelcome Sign aboard!  We are thrilled to have you with us so we can enjoy another WIP from you.  That 234 was outstanding and beautiful.  Your WIP was very helpful as I have learned few things so I figured we could use more toots from you.

So far two guys have signed up for Sturm 33 but as their "secondary" build.  It would be great if you can build it to close that gap so other guys don't have to feel pressured into finishing their second builds.

Hey Mike, I've been a bit busy myself. Sometimes I only have time for a quick scan of the forums and a quick post. Any way, I saw yer post that you wrote about learning from my wip Pict's. I was looking forward to learning from your Pict's! The blind leading the blind? For all our talk and eagerness to start the build I'm sure it will be a while to get going. Only now I can go all the way instead of fondling!

Need to go see my stug..err....my wife. Turn down...err... up the lights. Open some paint jars..err......mail. Turn on some slow....errr ....metal music, yea metal music. I think I need help........

I've actually got a second turret box - ordered the MIG Pz.III stowage boxes set. Just looking at it I much prefer it to the Legend stuff (which I find frustrating because cool stowage thing A may have really, really poorly detailed tracks molded so they peak out the bottom, for example...)

Thing is, it's not the 502nd markings that I want to build. Maybe I need to reassess.

DoogsATX

How about this picture of some Pz.III Ausf. L's advancing on a Russian village?

I'm digging how the back Panzer seems to have scored a second turret box.

Doogs- I think it is cool... that would be great if you can do this.  I am sure somebody has a spare box. Just offer a case of Beer and they will offer you stuff.

Armor86- I will check my reference books on Pz III tonight to see if I can find any pictures of Ausf J near Moscow... hope others have the pictures to share too.

Only three more days to go... I can even hear Chazzer breathing. Indifferent

These GB's are a bit addictive for an impulsive personality like myself. Huh?

Mike- You are not kidding me... I love those GBs!  That's the only reason I can't leave this forum.  Right now I am committed to three GBs but they all last for a year even two years (Korea War GB has been extended til 2013!)   I think it helps me find more time at my workbench...

Bob- No worries!  Few of us will probably start on July 1st while others will start later this year or even next year.  We have plenty of time... I have seen your work and I know your build will come out just great.

I would love to get started right away, but it will probably be at least 6 weeks before I can get this one going,it's a nice long time frame,so i don't anticipate any problems finishing.

dupes

From past GB experience, there's always a group of people chomping at the bit for the build to start, and then don't manage to kick their builds into gear right off the bat. With all of the craziness here, I hope you guys are different!

For me, the TDF starting right after the GB does bodes well for at least getting construction done in a timely manner. Yes

Dupes- I agree... I have been in 5-6 GBs for last two years and I have seen how things worked.  Success rate really varies from 50 to 75% completion.  I hope we will see good result since it is a year long and don't everybody love Pz III? LOL

Don't tell everybody I plan to throw biggest party at my place for those who have kept their words. Beer

The StuG F won't be starting until late fall/early winter at best but I will be following the builds and looking forward to seeing the work that I know you guys are capable of..

I'll be kicking off July 1. Got two aircraft on the bench that will be fighting for attention, but the Vorpanzer gets its bath on Thursday evening so it'll be good to go Friday.

I'll probably be one of those.  I've obligated myself to 3 GB's -- one of which I'm 97% done but I'm stalled.  I'll probably start this one a bit late, maybe in August.  I'm a last minute join to the infamous HO229 GB which ends in September.

These GB's are a bit addictive for an impulsive personality like myself. Huh?
