Hauptfeldwebel Reasoned presents the Bf 109 Bouchon that was flown during the BoB film, which depicts the very plane he got 7 kills in one week with, after his promotion, he received the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves Swords and Diamonds, he is rumored to have had more kills than Erich Hartman but in the interest of being a good sport, he let his friend "Bubi" have that title.  It is also widely accepted that he flew aircover for FM Erich von Manstein and is the sole reason for much of his military success.  In the twilight of his life, he went on to a fine acting career.

Okay, shot the colors and took some creative liberties (hey, it's an imagination build Wink), with the decals etc.  As stated earler this is Hauptfeldwebel Reasoned's Bf 109 Bouchon.  I decided on an imaginary combination of a BoB movie Bouchon, flying for the "real" JG 27 unit.  Anyway here's where we are now.  I must say these Academy decals are...... filmy..... like Saran Wrap consistency.

Alrighty, not much imagination happing round here huh?  Well my excuse (in addition to my in-laws and others being here over the holidays Angel) for not getting much done was this......

for the kids of course Wink

Now the "progress" on the Hauptfeldwebel Reasoned Bf 109 Bouchon, ready for the RLM 65.  I found the 20mm cannon on the spru tree for the BoB Bouchon so I'm going to ditch my scratch built cannons.

Here's where I am. I finished the sled up, except that it needs a little weathering. They were practiced with quite a bit before the actual mission.

The crew have a base coat of rubber, two lighter coats to highlight the wrinkles, and a base coat of dark brown flash. Still a lot of painting to do there.

On December 3, 1941 the MAS raided Alexandria Harbor with three manned torpedoes, attaching mines to the battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth, the cruiser HMS Valiant, the Norwegian tanker Sagona and the destroyer HMS Jervis.

The crew that mined the Valiant was forced to surface and captured where they were interned in the hold! Unable to convince their captors that the ship was mined, they somehow survivved the explosion, but all four ships were sunk and the other two crews captured as well.

Okay, now this is original and cool...the rest of you M0J0's could learn something from Bondo...

Boy, bench time has been a challenge lately.  Starting to come together, not happy with the wing roots, or the office fit.  No location pins for the faux guns on the cowl and am building the 20mm wing guns from scratch.  Have to review the movie again to see if I need to attach the wing "bulge" for the gun housing.  I have A Lot of cleaning up but it's a start, a couple wips on the Bouchon 109.

I am probably going to use an extra Gruppe badge from another 109 kit and kind of wing it.

That can be done.

The eagles holding the red swastika are similar to those used by a real squadron.

Yeah, that's the kit.  Occasionally it will show up on Ebay but since I've already got the "Spanish" kit I am probably going to use an extra Gruppe badge from another 109 kit and kind of wing it.

Since I plan to build an authentic, (imaginaryConfused) "Battle of Britain" movie Buchon, I wanted to use the Gruppe badge used in the movie.  One of which is shown above, the other is the same blue/white shield but has a swastika in it.  Since I have a Yellow # to use, I would use the one above.  I believe Hobbycraft also ran a Ha 1112 "Civil Schmitt" with the proper decals but alas.....

Sure, here it is... Dragon #6702.  I saw it at my hobby shop last weekend but I didn't buy it.  Maybe next time... it would be wise to buy it now before Manny buys every of one.

thanks !

 Manstein's revenge:

No excuses.  Get to crackin' M0J0...

Yes, it is a fig of me.  No, it is 120mm scale...resin kit; forgot the manufacturer...???

Actually I am about to take a break from my StuG build so it will be a good timing for me to work on this.

I was talking about this figures set from Dragon.  But I am not sure if the general on the left is actually Manstein.  His @ss looks way too big...

http://www.dragonmodelsusa.com/dmlusa/propics/DIR_DRA/l/l_DRA6702.jpg

That is based on a photo that was taken just after his unit over-ran the Russian Field Bakery unit - probably hiding some pastries back there. The guy second from the right is stirring some cookie batter.

Cookie batter?  I doubt it.  Based on the look of the last figure at right, he doesn't look too thrilled.  Bet you Manny's mistress it has something to do with cats...
