Just got a Tamiya modern bags and armor accesories kit. The same things found in their M1A2. Now I can make my Dragon M1A2 look like that of Tamiya. Can I start now?

Lil's Megamall...P285.00. (2 identical sets in one box). Only one box left. Better hurry.

There is even a 1/35 puppy included (total 2 puppies).

Officially, we can only start on the starting date but anybody can start later.
...but "can we start early"...he-he-he. Very tempting.

that's right Dwight! very tempting.
i can't resist the temptation of opening the box. but the sprues are still inside the sealed plastics. he he
i noticed on my photoetch parts that there's a thumbmark on it which caused it to rust. maybe someone from "dragon" touched it with sweaty fingers.

If you have the Dragon M1A1-HA Baghdad Ed. then you don't need the Tamiya bags and accessories.

OK let us secretly start with ours. LOL.

What do you mean by unconventional? As in straight from the imagination?
I'm still undecided whether to go with the desert camo or the three tone NATO camo.
Not really a fan of the NATO camo, so maybe someone else out there has suggestions.

I read in a thread that no one has the right surface on the newer M1A1-A2s but I looked at my Italier(sp) but it has the rough nonskid finish. Just a note that I found. Cant remember where I read it. Good luck, on the build boys and girls------Stephen
Seals are crazy. I have the papers to prove it . You on't jump from a plane in less its on fire. You don't swim to a shore and go hunting bad guys with wet weapons yet I did. And pouud of it. Nam 68-69

My father and I just got the M1A1HA 1/35 from Trumpeter. I have never built armor before, but I would love to join the group build ( especially to have tips on track construction).

Welcome to the forums Steelrat828, the more the merrier. What are you used to building?

I'm painting mine sand. After the three color nightmare on my Panther, I need a single color. If I clean up my pieces now, I might be ready to start on the projected start date. LOL

Well, I am stuck with my 1/83 "mayflower" for the wife. And that means I am stuck. There is a ton of clean-up required here. And I am losing my sanity. I need to regain it soon. I need to do some armor, he-he-he. And I decided to start with my M1 this weekend.

Sorry...He-he-he.

Have you ever had something gnawing at the back of your mind for a LONG time and never got around to it? That's how my Stuart builds are beginning to feel to me. I need to make some engine compartment bulkheads, tranny's and steering brake housings, ammo bins, etc. for the Academy and AFV Club M-3's. So, Guys and Gals, Kids and Codgers (like me), I have to withdraw from the M1 build... gotta do a Stuart or three.

Sorry to hear that. It would have been fun, since you've replied to so many of my posts, I'm sure I could have picked you clean on this one. Ah well, maybe next time.
What other GB (if any) are you involved in?

Sounds like this is gonna be a fun one...too bad I have to sit out! I better finish the Panther, Sherman and towed gun GBs first! I may be able to jump in later though.

Zokissima,

I'm on the Sherman GB, which will be done soon. I've a lot of work to do before then to meet the deadline!

Yep, mine's gonna be uncaonventional. U.N. WHITE!LOL
I'm not very fond of the three tone camo plus i hate to mask. I guess that's why i like WWII vehicles. Nice solid olive drab and sand for the desert. [Actually i have never attempted camo but i dislike it enough not to go through the trouble!lol]

hehe I know what you mean claymore68. I'm in towed gun build. That one starts a little later though, so I'll probably finish this one by the time the towed gun starts. Either that or I'll be a late starter for the towed gun.

UN White?! Wow I think it will look so cool. I have been thinking about some weird camo scheme too but since my 2 other M1's have the desert colors, I think I'll use the 3 tone for a change.Wink [;)]

martian,

You should throw in some nato green road wheels two or three like the crew had to replace them. make for a neet contrast.
