okay, where can I get an AM set of rubber-band tracks for the m1??? (if they exist Big Smile [:D]) I spent over an hour working on the tracks for the 1/72 revell I just finished last night, and I hated it!!!!! those semi-indys are a pain!!!!

Chris:
i don't know about AM rubber-band trax 4 the m1...
i think the Dragon 1/72 abrams kits have rubber band trax instead of link & length
so u could get their m1a1 or a2 & just nick the trax if u really want rubber bands...
BTW, the splintered barney pattern looks great...
tiny suggestion re: pix:
lite background 4 dark vehicles & vice versa helps a lot
as 4 the last one, i think an m1 w/ a quad 50 or huge artillery gun will look...
awesome ! Big Smile [:D]

I was wondering about the AM tracks for my dragon 1/35 m1a1

Thanks Frosty. Yes, a bit perplexing for a Tamiya kit. Never had that bad a fit before.

So far the build has been pretty straight forward. The bustle rack is next [:0]Black Eye [B)][:0]Black Eye [B)][:0]Black Eye [B)] and that looks like it might be challenging Banged Head [banghead] DOH!

Here is my turret:

now that I can see the images larger than the actual model I can go back and clean up some stuff Evil [}:)]

waaah.... my pix r gone...
guess a straight OOB italeri 1/72 m1 doesn't make the cut 4 the armor gallery...
Dead [xx(]Dead [xx(]Dead [xx(] LOL !
i'd better come up w/ something a bit more interesting over the weekend !
i found exactly ONE pic of the prototype m1 arv variant, but i don't have enough info 2 work from 4 that project...
need more pix, anyone got any connections w/ General Dynamics ?

Looks like the dragon or trumpeter kit. If so it is a pain in the Censored [censored] and you will beBanged Head [banghead] against the wall.

Its the hobbycraft/trumpeter kit. What is the part that is so hard? It seems pretty straighforward so far. Maybe I got lucky Evil [}:)]

The dragon kit was all miss shaped and short I almost used the trumpeter rack but found it to be a very nice lookin kit for 18$ so I didnt want to peice it out,but i dragons came with the marines rack which coverd it up in the end any way.

Ok... whoever said the bustle rack was going to be difficult has obviously not built the mine plow Banged Head [banghead]

Good job on the bustle rack. I had a LOT of problems with mine, maybe it was just an isolated incident. Don't have the kit with the mine rollers, so I can't comment on that, but I can't wait to see how you fare with it Smile [:)]

Count me in.

I've got a 1/72 Revell HA and the nasty little M1A1 from Dragon (1/72).

The Dragon has needed some resin parts made since it didn't come with all that
were needed (like a drive sprocket). Thumbs Down [tdn]

Sorry about that Frosty ..... I thought you had them marked as in progress so they didn't get moved. Repost them and I'll get them into the proper folder.

DT:
thanx 4 ur offer of help !
i think i'll b able 2 post updated pix next week...
this was supposed 2 b a straight OOB build, but then i found a piece by
Rob Gronovius on detailing the italeri 1/72 M1... (thanx, Major G.!)
so i did end up doing a bit of extra work on the M1 that i didn't mention,
like cutting grooves into the 'double wide' road wheels
2 make 'em look like pairs
& adding vision blox using Krystal Klear & an old piece of lighting gel 4 the tint
filled in the sponson gaps w/ sheet styrene
i made the spring clips 4 the front fenders
out of some guitar string (.009 stainless steel wire)
trying 2 decide whether or not 2 rebuild the main gun...
after the m32, this still feels pretty close 2 OOB ! Wink [;)]

Robert:
no problem.... they were indeed WIP pix, will post updated pix asap...
i was just being overly dramatic, i guess.
thanx, & congrats on ur new title of Postmaster General !
