I got the 1/48 DML LEM on sale from Squadron, so I'm officially in.

I think it's a pretty nice looking kit.

I found out that Armstrong flew the NF-104A, the 104 with the rocket engine and reaction control system. Made famous in The Right Stuff when Yeager crashed it. I've had the parts in my stash for quite awhile and this is a great incentive to get going on it. So please put me down for a 1/48 Hasegawa F-104G with the Cutting Edge bits to build a NF-104A.

My Monogram X-15 has arrived, so I'm ready to commence and I will hold my breath until July 2013.

It seems good with everyone and gives people plenty of time to get their kits together, join, finish other GB's etc.. I'll keep bumping the topic every so often to keep it fresh. You could also put a sign near your build labled "Armstrong GB 7/20/13" to help :)

Just a question:  The start date of 7/20/13 is almost 11 months from now.  I'm not sure if I can even remember that long!  Are you sure that's when you wish to start?

I added a tentative roster up top and a badge idea along with start/end dates to run by you guys.

I can give you a definite "Maybe".  Armstrong was commander on Gemini 8.

I have an old Revell 1/24 scale Gemini capsule that needs to be "restored" (stripping the old paint from the parts, redoing it with some extras) if that is acceptable.  It will give me a good excuse to pull it out of the box and finally re-do it.

This shows Armstrong with a capsule about the same size as the one I have.
