Hooray for Hollywood 2014 GB extended til July 4th
Posted by greentracker98 on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 8:50 AM

I just found the Hollywood GB from 2012 and thought it would great if it was an annual Group Build. If we get enough interested participant, we can go ahead and get it started.

I've copied the rules from 2012, (Thanks Konigwolf13)  and if anyone has any more ideas, we can include them into the rules as well.

Rules

Start Date : May 2nd 2013

End Date : Oscar night 2nd March 2014

This group build is open to any model of something that has been in Movie, Television or Animation, the catch is the build must be marked/painted/decaled as it occured in the movie or show.

eg Top Gun An F-5 could be done as long as it used the black with markings for the MiG-28.

Battle of Britain using Ha-1112 instead of real 109's

Battle of the Buldge  M-47's as Tigers and M-24s as Shermans

Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon Kits, Airwolf for Television

Gundam, Figures Kits for anime

The Chevy Titan Tractor Trailer from Beverly Hills Cop 1 (The one that

the bad guy plows into every thng in his way in the beginning of the movie)

I seen recently that AMT has come out with Eddie Murphy's Nova he drives in the movie

The Volkswagon Beetle from Herbie, The Love Bug

Its a big world with so many choices...

Crossovers Allowed.

All ready started kits are fine at no more than 50% complete

WiP's to be Posted

Thank you for consideration for a fun GB Idea

Ken

I think I'd be interested.  I have George Peppard's Pfalz hanging around somewhere from "The Blue Max."

The 86th Academy Awards will be on 2 March 2014.

Well....I guess I could finally build the M51 from The Big Red One.  Of course, there's also the Ford Mustang from the RoboCop series.  I already built the Taurus.

I was just thinking i haven't got anything that would fit this, then remebered all the star wars and star trek kits, so count me in. About time i built another Sci Fi kit.

Temporary build roster and completed builds

While Ken is trying to sort things out, I will be helping out with the GB. Any new entries and completed build pics will be added here and then Ken will move them to the first post when he is able to.

Just found a report that says Oscars next year are 2nd March. Why not make the start date 2nd May, that would give a 10 month GB.

Don't worry, i am sure you will do fine. The main thing is to try and keep it going, even if it slows down a bit. Nothing is likely to kill a GB off more than if the host doesn't take part.

Now, you just need a badge.

I am planning of starting 5 new GB's within the next year, i love a challenge.

KONOALOV. pity. let me know if i can because i found an ssn twofer.

or my 1/24 american 4-4-0 GENERAL from the great locomotive chase.

Theres the D-Day GB i have taken on, thats if Hans von Hammer doesn't come back. Thne i have been talked into running a Flak GB, that took some real arm twisting. Then i have 3 more ideas that i am working on. I was going to start those 3 on Jan 1st next year, but going to re think dates and so on i think.

i'll go for a twofer since i just ordered the 1/350 dragon DALLAS and ALFA. will build both. given the length of time i may be adding more after these are done.

so put me down for 688 USS DALLAS AND alfa V.K. KONOALOV

Ok, been haveing a think today. I am going to do a couple of small builds that i can do inbetween my others. Then if i can catch up, i will trow in a bigger one later on. So, put me down for a 70mm Stormtrooper from Knight Models. And, your going to love this, a 1/72nd Imperial Probe Droid from Retro SF. This thing is tiny.

Ken:

Well, with some hesitation, you can put me down also.  I have a 1/650th scale "USS Enterprise" from Star Trek I've been meaning to put together (nostalgia, as I had one back in 1968).  Perhaps this will give me the incentive to put her together.
