OK guys,

Question time, I am not looking for someone to start pouting regulations!

I want honest interpretations of a photo.

Look at the photo below, tell me if you think the tools are painted Olive Drab, or do they have natural wood handles???

I need a consensus...

they look  like the entire tool is OD. you might try a different shade or even do the wood like wood just for some contrast. i think all would be hard to dispute.

I really like those Dragon US Tankers. I used that same guy on my Pershing for the TC. Miniart also makes some great 1/35 US Tankers in a few sets.

I'm like Wayne.....wood would give some contrast and draw the eye to details.  Hard to argue either way as you know the military.....if it moves, salute it, if it don't move paint it.

Yes and in the aircraft maintenance side if you don't know what a certain part is you "paint it black and put it back"

Well after assembling and painting the wheels I am calling this Jug done. The parts count was really low and I finished alot quicker than anticipated. I know this is not the best p-47 in 1/32 scale on the market, but I had alot of fun building Big Smile So here it is Revell's 1/32 P-47D in the colors of the 201st squadron mexican airforce as they appeared in the phillipines during WW2.

Bone that looks fabulous! Wow! And a 45+ year old Revell kit to boot! Very beautiful in that shiny finish!

Work on the R2800 continues.

Crack Case is painted and dry brushed.

1st to do after that was drill 108 holes in the cylindersSurprise... 6 holes in ea. of 18 cylinders.  2 pilot holes for the spark plugs then drilling that out to the final size and then the holes for the little handles or guards or whatever they are.

Next was to make 18 pieces of wire exactly the same and size.  I made a quick jig with some sheet styrene.  Push the wire into the depression, bend the sides down, trim and Bob's your uncles... a perfect match and fit.

The cylinders  were painted with aluminum Alclad and given a block oil wash on the cooling fins.  Here where it is at the moment.  I can't do the wiring yet since I have to wait for some tiny metal hex nuts from Scale Hardware.

B1, nice Jug!

Wing nut, that engine looks great! (BTW, the wire details on the cylinders are oil lines for the rocker boxes)

I have had some interruptions this last week but,  I have been making progress in the background here.

The figures are just about done and I have just "finishing touches" to go on the T28/T95.

Next I need to get the base done.

I promise I will post more pictures tonight.
