Going Big GB
Posted by Theuns on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 12:21 AM

This is a GB dedicated to all models of 1/40 and larger , that would be the 1/35, 1/32, 1/24 ,1/18 and larger scales used by the car guys aswell.

Basically it needs to be 1/40 and larger :-)

guidelines -

scale as above

aircraft, both fixed and rotor wing, cars, bikes armour, trucks, artilary, even horse drawn carts if you want to!

crossovers are allowed

models of 25% completed allowed

out of box or full "AM Bling" , your choice

WIP pix please

dates will be from 01 Feb 2015 to 31 Jan 2016

SInce this is a long GB, I have asked Stikpusher if he will help to co-host this GB.If I am not online (we do have some internet hassles in South Africa from time to time) He wil be able to assist you :-)

If you have an idea for a badge, please post them so we can chose one.

I'm in for this GB, but I don't yet know what I'll build- it will either be a 1/32 jet or a 1/35 helo...  please give me a few days to decide.

Oh, sorry all are 1/32, just not sure which one to commit to. I'm kina hopin someone will host a P-51 or Spitfire GB. That would help me decide. I already built something for the 109 GB.

Oh.....well......hmmmm..... I have a GB starting in April and a Boeing Build in June. I may be a little booked....let me think about it. I'm afraid, like we discussed Theuns, I'm not sure of the participation. In fact I'm a little concerned regarding the Boeing Build participation.

since you opened up to everything please put me down for the TRUMPETER 1/35 K-5 RR GUN i am doing for the choo choo GB. at 38" not counting the low side gondola and diesel locomotive, i think that counts as BIG.

i have the ACADEMY and the ITALERI  BLACKHAWKs and a 1/48 ACADEMY SH-53. and i don't do airplanes.

I can't decide whether I want to open up a AV-8B II+, F-15E, F-16C or Mil Mi-24V Hind E for this GB...

Anybody have an opinion to share on these choices?   I have several other options if none of these are exciting.

I'd go with the AV-8 myself.

I like them all, but the Hind is a very menacing beast.... the stuff of nightmares for ground pounders...

Since I have the new 1/32 Tamiya F4U-1a that I was planning on starting in the next few weeks this looks like a good opportunity to jump back into the water. I'm so in.

Mark, I'll put you on the list.I have the Tam 1/32 P-51 and the F-4u came out after it, so I am sure that Corsair has to be absolutely the pinicle of model engineering, very interested to see what yours look like.

HIND.....DO the HIND!!!  Loads of them here in Africa, damn ugly, crude, noisy but it gets down to buiseness :-)

Tom, I have the same problem.....I have the Tam P-51, Trumpeter F4u1d, , Trumpeter MiG 19 PM and the WNW SE5a..............all of them deserve the best building skills I can muster so I am a tad "carefull" on witch one to buld LOL.

Guys, if you have ideas for a badge please post them, we can vote on it  :-)
