Great stuff. I am narrowing in on my FDR, Exercise Mainbrace in 1952.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
I will start a new Thread for this one in a few Days.....Cheers Mark
If i was your wife, i'd poison your tea! If Iwas your husband, I would drink it! WINSTON CHURCHILL
Nice. I will put up the Names and what they wish to build shortly so we can see who is going to build which Ship.....Cheers mark
Good question, Bish. I was wondering the same thing.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
I got outbid on the Aurora Guadalcanal, but it got too expensive for me. Oh well...
I won an auction for the Revell Midway though, as the FDR and I am really excited about that. I also won an auction dirt cheap for a started CV-60, so I'm going to follow the article from FSM and replace the flat bottom with a full hull from the Sara. Anyone interested in the aircraft, we can talk when the GB starts.
And I bought the Tamiya Bogue. The plan there is to build a RN Escort carrier, something I've wanted to do for a while.
Have been away from my bench for a few months while doing "life stuff" after our move.
Finally getting around to setting up my basement workbench.
Several flat tops in my stash. Will probably pick WW2 IJN in 1:700 scale, mostly OOB while I get my build *** back.
Cheers
Cool
THanks Gents this will be a goer by the look of it. Start Date will be Jan 1 and will run til Dec 31. If it takes a little longer for some 1-350 Builders I have no probs in extending it. I will soon put Names and Kits up the top of the Thread soon.....Cheers mark
DOH! I really meant 3, no really I did!
Lexington, right? I've got that kit.
I'm in for the Trumpeter 1/350 CV-3 USS Saratoga.
Mark,
Is this just an excuse to buy the new Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Ark Royal. It might just work for me!
Steve
Completed - 1/525 Round Two Lindberg repop of T2A tanker done as USS MATTAPONI, USS ESSEX 1/700 Hasegawa Dec 1942, USS Yorktown 1/700 Trumpeter 1943. In The Yards - USS ESSEX 1/700 Hasegawa 1945, USS ESSEX 1/700 Dragon 1944, USS ESSEX 1/700 Trumpeter 1945, USS ESSEX 1/540 Revell (vintage) 1962, USS ESSEX 1/350 Trumpeter 1942, USS ESSEX LHD-2 as commissioned, converted from USS Wasp kit Gallery Models. Plus 35 other plastic and wood ship kits.
GMorrison What is your kit, Bish? I have the Trumpeter 1/350 CV-2 and CV-8 in the stash, but those each represent a one year plus effort. I have the Heller 1/400 Illustrious about 75% complete; that won't do.

I've got the Airfix 1/600 HMS Victorious. I was planning on starting it at the end of the year anyway, the other half has been nagging me for ages to build it as it was a birthday present a couple fo birthdays back.
I'm in with three. The Tamiya USS Bogue on 1/700, the Revell USS Franklin D. Roosevelt on 1/542 and the Aurora LHP-7 USS Guadalcanal on 1/600.
AM who knows?
Actually I have that. And Ive printed them out to 1/700 scale. I was looking for hull cross section drawings as the hull sides appear to be at angles compared to the Wasp or Tarawa classes. But I think its still doable even without the cross section drawings. Just have to eyeball the pics.
No bucks, no Buck Rogers
Count me in for one.
Rick
I have a good feeling that this might be a goer. Especially with the possible number of 700's that are being touted. Hopefully this is what you are after Allan.....Cheers Mark

I'm still in, I have a 1/700 CV6 that I am dying to build this next summer.
GMorrison allan Ive been toying with this idea for some time now, and I have been able to get good top and side drawings, but does anyone have cross-section drawings for the HTMS Chakri Naruebet? Not me! But frankly, who gives a shotz? Build it and be proven wrong. Trumpeter makes really nice 1/700 Harriers. See my Tarawa.

Good point. Haha. Well lets see. Ill maybe try drawing up the waterline "keel" and then cut that out from sheet styrene, and then cut out the flight deck from sheet styrene and get a feel from there. Maybe.
A light in the window! Maybe getting out one of the big 1/350 USN fleet carriers is too challenging.
Tamiya 1/700 Bogue, I like the idea.
Hi!
I might bite, will have to see where I'm at on a couple of other GB's but I have the Trumpeter Triconderoga that's been sitting on the stash shelf for some time now and it would be a break from the planes.
On the bench: So many hanger queens.
An LHA would certainly fit in Allan.....Cheers Mark
Not yet 100% on this, but just in case, do LHAs like the USS Wasp count?
Thanks for checking in my Friend. Hope to get a few more Bites on this one.....Cheers mark
Might be intrested, I will have to see how many GB's are still on my plate. Keeping a low count next year.
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
