Ooh yes, if it's a year-long GB or longer, I'm definitely IN. Got a 1/48 scale He-111 I've been waiting to get some time to build!

Definitely interested, just don't know if I could finish one in 4 months (have several other group builds going on, plus a couple vacations scheduled within the next 4 months). Could you possibly stretch it a little longer, say 6 months?

Interesting info Stick , thanx for that.

The rules are not cast in stone, it is basically just that say an F-22 or other modern multi role craft does not use mainly Bombs as its chief weapon.

Eg a JU-87 dive bomber - Yes defenatley, a cannon JU 87, I dont think it counts.

I will post the official thread tomorrow. I will do the first post with Rules , Bish will run the pix page.

With that timeline, I'm in.  Would be Academy's 1/72 B-17E, Pacific Theater.  Strictly OOB.

Won't have to keep slapping it upside the box to stay off the bench.

I'm interested. I have both a B-1B and (if it qualifies) AV-8B in the queue.

Theuns

A Hawker Typhoon mainly had rockets not bombs so it is not in, P-51 could chuck bombs but were mainly fighters in WW2, however in Korea they were ground attack bombers so for that conflict it will work.

Actually Typhoons used bombs well before they started using rockets, and once rockets were added to their warloads many squadrons were still tasked for bombs only. Other squadrons were rockets only. It was found early on that it was more effective to specialize in one type of weapon or the other, rather than switch use both types of ordnance.

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

I spoke to Bish and between the two of us we can host this GB with a longer completion date.

If we were to do this GB from say 1 Feb 18 to say 1 April 19 (14 months) would there be more interest?

OK so my allowed timescale seems to be the biggest problem for allot of people, this is because data costs here are extremely high and with no fixed income (contract work) ,longterm GB will be difficult for me to monitor.

I think there might be more interest in it if it is a longterm thing, therefore maybe someobe else would be interested to host it ?

I am more than happy just to participate :-)

I'd need at least 1 year as I would probably opt for a Monogram 4 engine kit... I don't get much bench time!

I'm like Bish and MC, have a 1/72 B-17E Pacific Theater, that I have to keep slapping as it tries to jump on the bench,  but too much on the plate until way later in the year.

I'm with Bish. I have a 1/144 Badger but may not be able to get to it for 6 to 8 months.

I opened this thread curious about what a 'Bobmer' is. You would think that I'd twig that it was a typo.

I'll squeeze something in Theuns if you get this going.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Oh man,  I would love to but I’m booked for the next few months. Sad I have quite a few Luftwaffe bombers in the stash that are just begging to be built!

Anyone interested in a "Bomber" GB?

Say from now for the next 4 months or so.

Anything that served in any conflict as a bombchucker, fixwing or even Zepplin.

Modern stuff I know are multi function like fighter bombers,  but the main function of the craft has to be as a ground attack bomber ie F105's were mud movers although they could also shoot down Mig's.

If a Phantom was mainly used as a mud mover, and now and then only as air to air that will also be OK, however something like a multi role gen 4 plane ie Saab Grippen, that does air to air and ground attack eually well is not in the spirit of this GB, bombs have to be the main weapon of the craft.

A Hawker Typhoon mainly had rockets not bombs so it is not in, P-51 could chuck bombs but were mainly fighters in WW2, however in Korea they were ground attack bombers so for that conflict it will work.

Any scale, less that 25% complete , crossovers OK.
