Shelf of Doom GB II - 2018 Feeler
Posted by taxtp on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 6:41 PM

Hi Everyone,

I'm gauging interest for the next iteration of the Shelf of Doom GB. I'm planning to run it from April 1st to September 30th, so it's a full 6 months.

This is the chance to get some of those nasty old shelf queens off the shelf and into your cabinet. Crossovers would be allowed. The only stipulation is that the model has been on the Shelf of Doom for at least 3 months.

If I get a minimum 5 expressions of interest, I'll kick it off. I'll count myself as one of them !

Cheers

Tony

Tony-I'm interested-I have two Spitfires & two bf109E's at various stages-oldest one is maybe five years old?  Anyway, I would consider it a moral victory to get at least one of them completed.

It would be good to see Bob, and good to have you on board. I think my first one would be a 1/32 Czech Model T-33A, it's been grinding my gears on the Shelf since 2014.

Cheers

I have a "BUNCH" of kit's 1/2 built and still in the box..... but my "track record" for actually finishing a group build is about the same ..... still in the box !

I'm in. I have no idea what kit will "land" on the bench, but I will glue something to something untill I get a finished model !

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Sure, Heller HMS Illustrious, "Lusty Lady". The WW2 one. It's been half done for three or four years now.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Love to but I left all my shelf queens in Boise.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I don't care how far Nick, as long as it's started , on the Shelf of Doom, and unfinished, and you want to get it done. 5% is OK, so is 95%. Cheers Tony

Lets get it started!  Nothing like a GB for shelf queens to motivate me into completing partially finished builds.  Count me in!  I have quite a few queens that I can choose from for the GB!

Last Armor Build - 1/35 Dragon M-26A1, 1/35 Emhar Mk.IV Female

Last Aircraft Builds - Hobby Boss 1/72 F4F Wildcat & FW-190A8

Thanks everyone.

I've set up the actual GB thread.

If you could advise the Manufacturer, Scale and Subject over on the actual GB thread now, that would be terrific.

Thanks
