Hey Keyda,

Some of the guys on SPAM forum are asking about you, modeling wise. You know them from around here. If your intrested just follow the link on my sig line at look at the one of the threads (don't want to say which one). You'll find it.

BTW I would have PM'd you but that's not working either Confused

I tried signing up over there, but thanks to a glitch in my internet connection, something happened, and when I try to login it just says

"The specified username is currently inactive. If you have problems activating your account, please contact a board administrator."

Problem is, I can't contact an administrator if I can't login.  So I don't know.  I tried making a different username, but it won't let me use my email, because it's already in use.

oh interesting, i had the same problem a week or so back. Thought the same as uou but maybe now it's really a site problem. Figured I'd post here so MC sees it.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Is this still going on Keyda? With me moving back to Boise, getting settled back in and starting on several ships, which are still in drydock, I forgot that I signed up until I saw a post a few days ago. Sorry about that.

It's still open!  I would rather keep it going and let people finish their projects.  Life gets in the way, and things happen that we can't possibly plan for.  I may even enter a third one.  I got one more Mini W7 I would like to do, but it would be in flight instead of static.  Hopefully this winter.

Last time I lost a part was the glareshield from a 1/32 Tamiya F-15C.  Put the fixture for the gunsight on it, painted it up real nice, and wrapped it up in a paper towel.  3 months later and it still hasn't shown up.  Pretty sure that paper towel ended up in the trash.

Looking awesome 68GT!  I do the same exact thing.  Put them in a safe place, and forget where that safe place is.  Happens a lot more than I would like to admit.  Might be a bit difficult to use clear glue to make the windscreen for that too.  Maybe one side at a time would work?  I did manage to use clear glue in the small nose window on Mini Movie Memphis Belle with the gun sticking through it.  It was a pain to keep the gun in the middle while it dried.

68GT

So I sat down yesterday to wrap this one up but now I cant seem to find the windshield and one of the landing lights.

68gt I Hope I'm laughing with you! Can't tell you how that struck me as so familiar. I tell myself, self, put that in a place where you won't crush it and that you'll be able to find it later. Which is generally followed a week or more later by me cussing and grumbling and swearing about how I can't keep track of anything Bang Head. You'll find them I'm positive!

This was actually my first time around. I started with a scan of a sheet I had but was very old. I used an old 5.0 version of Photoshop to clean the scan up. Printed it on white paper from experts Choice and then a few light coats of Testors Decal Bonder spray. When I get back into the office after this Covid stuff I'm going to try some CAD to see what I can do. It's been a while since I used it.

Looks great.  I like the cigar.   What do you use for making decals?

Thanks,

VR-HDB calling Macao, repeat VR-HDB calling Macao. Cathay Pacific DC-3 inbound from Kai Tak.

Madame host: better late than never. Cathay Pacific's first wholly owned aircraft; ex-C-47 bought on Long Island in 1946 and flown to Hong Kong to inaugurate cargo service from the Colony to Australia.

"Betsy" they called her.

Well on the bright side at least it's in a museum and being taken care of.  What drives me nuts is when they are left to rot outside.

Thanks!  It's been re-purposed a few times, and seems to work rather well for displaying models.  I still have tons of space on the bottom two shelves.  Told myself no more buying, just building!

"I assume that bird is just a static and not a flier? "...yep, not going anywhere without some major work I would guess. It is nice to walk through.

that display case is really a nice set up. The tiered look really catches your eye.

I assume that bird is just a static and not a flier?

Finally finished my "display case".  My Dad built the stand at some point roughly 30 yrs ago for his 55 Gal fish tank.  He got rid of the tank and added the upper section at some point, I don't remember when.  When he passed away he was using at a display shelf for his diecast cars.  I couldn't just toss it.  So I brought it home and used it as a display shelf for my models.  I needed some place to put Mini Whiskey 7 and eventually Mini Movie Memphis Belle.  So I decided to modify the shelf a bit to make them fit, and be able to keep the dust out.  I added a back, and sides to the middle of the stand, and a piece of clear acrylic sheet to the front for the door.  I may do something different with the side, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, lol.

The small plane is a Mini L-21.  Another one of the museums birds.  It was the very first plane my daughter ever flew in.

Once Mini MMB is done she'll go on the other side.
