Bish

now you are just egging people on.

built SHERMAN, TIGER 1, KV-2, T-34, TIGER 2 PZ-IIIN and PZ-38 at wash and weather stage. the fit is very tight as in priming and painting before assemby just means scrapping off the paint. oh and block the axles and holes in the hull before painting.

Those look awesome Wayne!

I'm working on the Sherman, hope it comes out as well as yours!

Hmmm, as Wayne said the 'Toon' tanks are sorta egg shaped so we could go with the egg motif here for them as well.

I'm thinking maybe Humpty-Dumpty as a badge???

Or maybe the 'Shirley, you can't be serious group build'???

The new Squadron flyer has the new Meng Panther, but low and behold not listed by either stock# Meng on the website. Lol.   I'll give it a week or so and try again.  Fluorescent pink for paint

Hi,

I'd be interested in joining in with either an F-22 or an Osprey if I can find one for sale. Stick out tongue

Whenever someone mentions egg planes it always reminds me of this You-Tube video...

PF: Oh wow, I didn't know the F-22 had a sub option. Stick out tongue

Greg: If I go with it should I call it the Shirley GB???

GH: Sounds like plan!

I guess its like that moview "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" where the hero had a P-40 that could both fly and maneuver under water Surprise

GAMERA Thank you.

The TIGER 1, SHERMAN, KV-2 and KING TIGER were the first 4. Be careful painting because the fit is very tight. The TIGER had the tow cables molded on so it was a tedious paint job. i think it is mid range with rubber tires but newer TC hatch. Meng learned and the tow cables on the KING TIGER are separate pieces. i had to cya the track sag on 1 but the skirts hide it on 2.

i found the Sherman the only annoying one because the sprue attachments are thick for the light guards. i have a second KV2 and going to try a winter white wash. decals can have some backing issues but that could be my not very good decal techniques.

in the states with a 40% coupon at HobbyLobby you can get them cheap though the selection is not great. They are nice to practice new techniques as they build nicely but are fast (except me, anal that i can be) and inexpensive.

i need some figures, especially some minions, for crew members.

Wayne: Those are cool! I've been working on the Sherman and yeah I was afraid I'd destroy the light guards cutting them off the sprue and cleaning them up. Thankfully by moving slowly they came out fine.

I've been trying to sculpt a cartoony tank commander but I'm not too good at it.

I personally would be tempted to call it the 'I am serious...and don't call me Shirley' GB; though I cheerfully admit that name might be a little too cutesy/inside/obscure to be really useful.

It's funny...Googling through various kit possibilities online, I ran across one I'd never seen before: Hasegawa's version of a Loach/Hughes 500.

Oddly enough, the shape of the original is such that--other than the shortened tail-boom--you can hardly tell it's a caricature....

Greg: So many great ideas for a name here, I'll probably throw up a couple of different badges so people can choose whatever they like best.

I am thinking:

'I am serious and don't call me Shirley'  with Leslie Nielson

'Why so serious' with the Joker

'Yolk's on you' with Humpty Dumpty

Just a few off the top of my head, we can come up with something better when we kick off in April. Anyone else have ideas we can toss them in too.

Love that Hughes 500, you're very right, it's already almost an egg. I didn't even notice Hasegawa made one, now I want to pick up one of those and paint her up as T.C.'s chopper from Magnum P.I.

GH: Sounds cool! I'll probably be doing the M5 Staurt 'Toon' tank since I have it already.

I remember building this one when it came out.  I even used the iron on for the T-shirt.

On Ed's bench, ???

I would definitely lean toward #1:

But that's just me.

BTW, love that 'Trans-Um!' That's another one I've never seen before....

Well, I've decided an 'art car' is not over the top enough, so I'm formulating another plan.

A previous build:

given i have armor, boats, and planes, i will look for this to add to the weird stash.

speaking of weird am finishing up the Roden 1/35 HOLT 75 WW1 artillery tractor in civilian colors, red with turquoise engine, and the toons PZ-38. still have the 3 to weather and will PUT new builds aside until GB start. probably be lazy and do M-26 and M-5 as they are 1 color.

I've been buying some egg stuff just for it Gam. So far 3 with more to come.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

The Panther arrived on Saturday, now to see about some appropiate sized "cat" markings for it.

Wonder why Meng didn't use the Panther instead of the Sherman for the pink kit with the cats around it???

Just finished putting up insulation in a spare room and have the wrappers from the rolls, so might look at trying to do something with reducing those.

A thought hit last night, so I'll toss this in the mix....

"The Great Eggscape"

Badge could be a toon car alongside a toon tank, with egg plane above, breaking out of POW camp fencing.

Thanks, I get the strangest ideas that wake me up at 4 AM sometimes.

Could even use the POW/MIA guard tower as the background.......

Couldn't be more perfect! You could build one of these....
