Nope. Don't have a computer or the skills to do one. If you'd like to do a Calvin and Hobbes themed one, go for it.

Caveman,

No worries. Get stronger and we'll see you in few months.

I managed to end this year's build on a successful note. As I said in an earlier post, I started at 2343 Sunday.

I've finished this kit at least 6 times, so my biggest problem isn't running out of time, it's maintaining focus over the 48 hours. I did encounter a problem or two along the way. The most disconcerting was the fact that I couldn't get my airbrush to work. It's a Badger 250 mini spray gun and while I had no problem with airflow, I couldn't get it to spay, not even water. To be honest, it is pretty ancient and it's possible that even after I ran something through the paint nozzle to clear it, I still couldn't get it to spray. When I get home, I'll throw the nozzle in the purple lake for a couple of days and see if that works.  Since the airbrush wasn't working, I grabbed a can of Tamiya Semi-gloss black (more like a matte black) and painted the cockpit. I glued the cockpit in place and sealed the fuselage. After the wings were attached and everything puttied up, I realized I had left the radiator off. It can't be seen, so I didn't beat myself up about it too much.  Here she is, ready for primer.

I knew I was going to lose a few hours because I had to leave for work at 2000. Here she is in her finished glory with about 25 minutes to spare. The paint is Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal over their gloss black. The decals are by Carpena and represent a P-51 in Ethiopian service from 1955-1960.

Gentlemen,

Thank you all for participating. It doesn't matter if you were successful or not, without you guys, this little build would have be a lonely, short lived endeavor. If you started something but didn't finish it, keep at it and post a pic here when you're done. Until next year!Toast

Great builds guys.

Sorry Lew, spirit was willing but body was weak.  New meds are still beating me up.  I'll put the kits away for next year.

See you all in November!

Well done sir! Well done.  Which pic would you like for the front page?

I started my Mustang at 2300 last night, about 20 hours in, I have something that looks like an airplane.  Has to be finished by 2000 tomorrow as that is when I leave for work.  One of the problems with the Tamiya Mustang is that it goes together so quickly, you can overestimate how much time you have to build it.

Got the front page updated (finally Whistling) with Bob's and Freem's builds.  Will start my final attempt this evening with either a 1/72 Tamiya P-51D (will have to find a simple paint job) or Hasegawa's 1/72 X-29 in a what if scheme. How's your build coming GA?

Well done Chris! Do you have pic you'd prefer for the front page of is it my choice?  Just a reminder gents that this little build of ours will be closing on Sunday 2 Feb. As long as your build is started before 2359 2 Feb, you're golden. As always special requests will be entertained.

Made it!!!!!!

Smer 1/50 Avia BH-11.  Not a bad kit at all.  Some simple stuff in the cockpit and you'd have a real winner.  Scales out with some museum photos I found on the web.  Reckon I put about 6 hours off and on since Friday night.

Made it-kinda-a lot of little things I want to cleanup, add dull coat & oil wash but overall happy.

Lewbud-as always, thank you for organizing this GB-always fun to watch & participate.

Cheers

Looking good freem-getting close

Sprayed the Future @0600 this am-started decalling @ noon-decals are thick and wrinkled quite a bit-using minimal decals, i.e., no stencils, in order to keep from getting frustrated.

Needed to make some night figher exhaust suppressors but I'll save that for later.

Taking a breather before diving back in-need to install p.e. harness and all the small bits...should make the deadline.

Painted!

All that's left is to paint the gear (that was my handle to paint the top), hang the engine and prop, a few decals and 3 small detail parts and she's done.
