I'm pretty new around here so I'm not exactly sure what is involved in joining a group build, but I'd certainly be interested in giving it a shot.

a group build is when several members of the Fine Scale Forum build models that are some how related. i.e. Sherman family group build. you can build anything from the Sherman Family. hope that helps.
Anyone else interested?

Do you guys think that i should post something in the aircraft and figure forums?

P.S. if you do a ship model then there is not really an ending date.

Arrgh! Another build. Too many builds at the same time. Of course this hasn't stopped some of the guys(Dwight and Chris). LOL I'm going to drop out of one of my other builds and might get into this one. The M-18 was running around D-Day, correct?

Best check the dates of when they hit the front .... I don't believe they reached it until late in 1944.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

QUOTE: Only prob is I don't know haw to make group build patches and websites. so there will be none unless someone else does it.

It sounds intresting, I'm a maybe. But if you need a group patch I can do it. I can't do the website though, just a catchy patch. I'll get back to you on if I'm in, but probably.

Sounds like a good group build to me, however it seams like a real short one. I have nothing in my stash nor the time or money to invest in any more right now anyway, but I think you need to give more time. A lot more time. I started the NMF GB over at the Aircraft forum and I have given a Halloween due date so that people could do larger scale projects. IE I am working on Monograms B-29 so that is something to think about. I know that June 6th is comeing fast but I think your due date is somewhat unrealistic. Good luck though sorry I cannot join in on this one.

Ok, so I was thinking of what to build for this group, and lets seeā€¦ I need some help!!

From my limited resources, I am under the impression that the only panzer divisions that were engaged in fighting for the first few days after D-day were the 21st Pz, and HJ?? Can anyone confirm this, or add to it?

Now what kind of tanks are we talking about? Panthers and Pz IVs, right?

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks

I know the 12th SS Panzer was also in action, against the British and Canadian beachheads. Panthers and Pz IVs would be appropriate for that formation.

Blush [:I] I was afraid of that Robert, but wasn't sure. I should think before I ask questions sometimes. I thought it was the only one I had on hand. Actually I have three German tanks that would qualify. Just need to decide whether to jump on it or not.

I would suggest that group builds be sequential -- so that we don't overuse the idea. It's nice to give the whole forum the ability to get involved without having to choose. There are already at least two group builds running during this time -- the Towed Gun build and the M1 build.

Not to be a thread Nazi, and we can have as many group builds as we want going. But IMO one at a time is not a bad policy. You get more guys building the same thing that way.

On the badge front i hav a suggestion. How bout either a tetrahedra(excuse the spelling) with sumthing next to it cant think of what or a landing craft hitting the beach. Just a suggestion.

I'm a definite 'maybe' on this one.
Don't really know what to build after the towed gun GB, since I just started that. It's a demag with a flak 43 dio. Don't know if that would apply. Anyone have any other ideas of where I can find out about equipment used in this battle?
