This one is over, but there are plenty of others you might find interesting.

Well Its finished woth the exceptoin of some mud, dirt and some other odds and ends hope it passes for the group badge. Even if it did take me beyond the build finish date. It was deffinately worth the build tho.

Well gang I am one last weathering and one light dusting away from posting and finishing. Ever since I put the camo on my son has been following intently on this build geuss he is starting to see The ways of the darkside. The darkside is strong in this one.

You got that right Frosty. I recently had my modeling time cut in half since my son moved down with me. He gets my time from the time I walk in the door to the time he goes to bed. Goodthing is that he loves building models so I get to model with him. We are working on The battleship Arizona so I will probably be finishing just before new years HEHE.

well, even tho' the end date of this GB is long past,
it's nice 2 see that i'm not the only straggler. LOL !
i finally decided it was OK 2 let the project take the time it needed
rather than trying 2 rush & get it done by the deadline ...
tige, nicholas & feldgrau: hey, if we finish before 2005,
it'll still b a 60th anniversary project !Big Smile [:D]

Nicholas, when your finished, post some pics of the builds over on the Aircraft Forum. This thread is pretty much dead, but would love to see the models.

Wibhi,
Nope, I masked the relevant areas white, sealed them, masked for the stripes and spryed black.
I know that at that early stage, the stripes were not necessarily all that neat and tidy, but I prefer the crisper lines......

Sheesh, just realized that the build date ended and i was about to spray my base coat. Way to many distractions on my end during this build. Oh well, When I get done I'll post some pics anyway.

Well,

I definetly didn't make it ! And definetly won't finish for awhile. Too many summer activities, I didn't finish anything else I had started.

So definetly don't hold up the awards banquet for me

It was great being involved and seeing some great builds

Vintage, according to the orignal rules, the build ended on August 6th. I don't know of any change, but maybe John will post a reply.

Well I guess its time for me to do an update. Now if you remeber a while back I said that I was doing a C-47 in invasion stripes for this build, well I changed my mind becasue at an airshow I saw a pre WW2 C-47 in bare metal andthe international insignia with the red dot in the center, and thought that that would make an interesting scheme for my bird. Now I have decided to change my build from the 1/48 C-47 to the 1/48 Tamiya P-47D-25 Bubbletop Thunderbolt. Oh and I wont be able to start work on it until after the 11th of september. Now that brings me to a question that I have, when is this build over? and would I still have time to build mt T-Bolt.

Nice Flak John. I'm still puttering around on this build. I'm just finishing up this blasted muffler on my Marder. The pe is tough to put on. They give you wire to tie the pe to it. But on dry fitting it doesn't work and you see the wire. So I'm glueing it and my fingers to the muffler. I hope to maybe shoot a base tomorrow.
