Hey, guys! I've got the main GB page up! Please go over there to confirm your participation. Thx!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” - John 3:16-17
John 3:16 KJV You've got a nice selection there, Glamdring! I actually like Panzer IIs; they're "pocket tanks". :)

Yeah, 25 years of buying at a rate much faster than building will do that. I haven't even inventoried my selection of 1/72 kits, figure sets, or the kits in the "purge pile" that will be listed on Ebay one of these months!

John 3:16 KJV Glamdring, what kind of German armor do you have?

A Panzer I, multiple II's (one of which is the first armor kit I ever bought, the Tamiya Pz.II from the early 70's, which included the 5 Africa Korps figures), and a III, and a couple halftracks. I thought I had a Tiger, but I think that was my entry from years back.
Found I did have some Allied armor in my inventory as well, the Dragon T19 and M3 GMC tank destroyers, as well as an M7 Priest with an option for British markings from El Alamein. I recently picked up an Takom's M3 Lee as well that offers a number of North African schemes.
It may come down to whichever kit is closest to the front of the closet though!
After 20 years, I should just bite the bullet and dig up that Tamiya Panzer...with some upgrades.
Greysnake and Xraylizard!
Galatians, please join!
Hello and "In". need a few days or a few weeks to decide what to build.
I'm interested, but I have a couple other group builds to wrap up...... I'll keep it in mind.
Going through my stash inventory list and cross checking with available markings, and I am amazed at how many kits I bought that contain North African markings. I must have gone through a phase some years back.
The choices are narrowed down to German armor, or the old Tamiya LRDG Chevy.
Welcome Keavdog, Tojo, and TJ!
modelcrazy- There is certainly room in the build for you!... :)
TJ- You succumbed to the temptation altogether too quickly. ;)
lewbud- Not in 1/48?!! ;)
Well, I've prepped the GB badges; I'll set up the main page in December probably.
I have a few kits that would work. I'll wait till next year to commit though. WAY too much on the bench at the moment.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Must resist the temptation......oh well I'm in F-6A Mustang based in Tunisia
Accurate Miniatures 1/48
John 3:16 KJV lewbud I'm in. Got a Martlet IV and a P-51A I can build from Operation Torch. Nice. Is the Martlet in 1/48?

What is this 1/48 that you speak of? Are you saying that there is a scale other than 1/72 or 1/144 (for the big stuff)? I could also finish the DAK Kettenkrad pulling a field kitchen that I was supposed to build for our club build last year.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
I'm in with 1/48 Tamiya Bf109E-4/7TROP Black 8. May crossover with Bish's Messerschmitt build if allowed.
Thanks,
John
fotofrank John 3:16 KJV Great! It's good to have you both join! fotofrank- The Moraine Saulnier MS406 was in Madagascar. Could certainly be a good (and colorful) addition! I just need to find a reasonably priced kit. I think it came out back in the mid-90s.

There's this on EBay if you're interested. Course, it is best to review the description, pictures, and seller on EBay and to just be careful there...

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
Yes, I'd definitely be interested, I have a few possibles in the stash.
Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

I'm torn. I'm just now finishing up this P-51A:
So I'm trying to come up with an idea for this group build. I'd like to try a Tamiya Dewoitine D.520 in Vichy livery or a HobbyCraft Morane-Saulnier M.S.406 as Vichy. I don't have these kits, I would have to try to find them. I do have a Hasegawa Spitfire Mk. VIII (31st Fighter Group) and an assortment of Me 109s and a 110 that could be done up as North Africa combatants. Maybe a 332 FG P-40F maybe. I dunno. Too many decisions.
Cool! Sounds like it's got the go-ahead! I've got a Bf-109 that could work and/or a Panzer IV.
Sure, I have Marseille's kubelwagen "Otto".
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
I'm up for it, got a lot of stuff that can be done for North African theater.
I would be up for that, haven't had a N African GB here for a while.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
I like the idea of a theater specific group build. I would be interested in something like this.
Chad
God, Family, Models...
At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
I would be interested...I failed in a similar GB some years back, would like another crack at it.
(And still have intentions of wrapping up my Korean War entry before 12/31 too!)
Hey, everyone! Would you be interested in building WWII North African Campaign themed models next year? I'd also be quite willing to allow for models depicting any WWII combatants in Africa at the time (ie-including participants in the battles for Madagascar and Ethiopia and participants in any other military actions which took place in Africa or near Africa's shores during WWII.) Y'all's comments, suggestions, and criticisms on this topic welcome!
