Not much here. Finally got all the seams cleaned up and put down the paint on the underside. Which now I'm looking at her and wish I'd painted the white leading edges first. So I'll mask her backwards there. Will have some photos when I have something worth showing.

Hope everyone else is making good progress.

I'm soooo close to completing the Akagi. Just working on the crew now and putting my backed-up builds back on the bench including the Spit. Also looking forward to cracking the Walrus box.

I have a couple of projects to finish up in the next couple of weeks.

If you don't mind I do have a half built 1/48 MK VI Tamiya Mosquito I'd like to contribute.

Let me know...

Unfortuantly the mosquito was not built by either of these companies so does not qualify. I will be doing a de haviland GB, but that won't be until 2023.

Spitfire Mk.1 P9363 QV-K Flown by Sqn Ldr B Lane, OC No 19 Sqn, September 1940, Battle of Brittain. The aircraft survived the war with two different pilots.

P9386 QV-K was Struck of Charge 9 Feb 1945. Sqn Ldr Lane's Log Books are lodged with the Imperial War Museum London.

I put the pilot in because I was going to display her in the air first.

I was going to say the same thing as crown.  It is a great build.  The bottom is especially awesome.

Steve: WOW!!! That's fantastic!!! Heart

I too love the undersides, I haven't had the guts to weather anything that heavy even though they do look that way in photos.

Thanks guys. I finally finished the Akagi, except for pics, so now I can concentrate on my other builds, and a little rest in between. Sleep

Thank you Bish for another fun GB. I need to get the other GBs out of the way, including your other two, before starting on the Walrus. hopefully I can get that on the bench before too long. Planes go so much faster than ships.

As always, looking forward to ALL your GBs.

Steve, echoing what everybody else has said, fantastic job on that Spit.

I noticed when you posted all of the extras for the build you had a dynamic propeller for it. Curious why you didn't use it.

Thanks JB,

I am going to put it with a 109E in a case as a nemesis display.

I finally got the camo done on the Censored. Sorry about the glare, I went ahead and put down the gloss coat before I thought about snapping photos. And weird, I normally get some orange peel with glosses but this one was really bad. I think it will tone down with the final matte coat though (crossing my fingers).

Thats looking nice, the black baseing shows up well.

As i mainly use gloss paints, i know it can be tricky getting good pics with a really shiny paint job.

I'll finally be making a start on my Wimpy this week. I don't normally join in one of my own Gb's so late, but its been a busy year.

So finally made a start on the Wimpy last night.

Can't believe i have had this kit 10 years.

I'm adding 4 CMK resin sets, interiour, undercarrage, flaps and engines. I'll be useing kit markings for an aircraft from 75 (NZ) Sqn based at Feltwell in Norfolk.

The nose section inside had to be sanded smooth before fiting a coupl e of resin pieces.

The CMK set replaces most of the pit pieces but also adds a radion and navigators compartment which should be quite visible with that long window along the sides.

And the front and rear turrets with resin barrels and one smal PE piece.

It got primed this evening and i'll get it painted in the morning. I'll be working on the engines and undercarrage tonight.

I'm building a Mk.X Wimpy for this GB. Just opened the box last night. Fitted a few pieces. It's the Trumpeter kit. Very nice interior that will never be seen since the Mk.X doesn't have the fuselage windows

Looking forward to seeing that one TJ. I am not sure how much will be visible thoguh the sdie windows, but the comopartment behind the pit will at least show there is somthing there.

Trump did the same with the fw 200, includes all the internal fuel tanks and lots of other stuff, but you won't be able to see it. We seem to have gone from one extreme to the other.

Bish,

Here's the case and display I wanted to do with the Spit and 109.

I want to do it with a Type 21 Zeke Vs Wildcat and Mustang Vs 190 as well.

I'll post it on the Mess GB as well.
