There has been fantastic progress going on here since my last update, bravo Harold, JB, and LostAgain!

As for the Invicible, decals have been affixed and the rudders and screws installed.  I can call finallt the ship itself done, even if the entire project isn't.

All that is left is filling out the deck with a few Harriers and choppers.  With the itty bitty roundel decals for them, I keep procrastinating though...

I am hoping to get a photo booth for Christmas, so I can give a decent finished photo too.  Smile

Thank you Robert, Bish and Cliff. Today I finished the decals and tomorrow I will give the model a clear coat of satin varnish. After that I can glue down the canopy, landing gear and propeller nose cone. If all goes well I should be able to submit my first successful camouflage aircraft model to Bish for final inspection.

Who knew aircraft models require so much work? But this has been great fun and I learned so much more about scale modeling.

Harold, I like how your Spitfire turned out, excellent paint.Yes

It is good to see that the fine surface details did not disappear with the repaint.

Thank you, Jack, I learned a lot of new techniques on this model; if it had not been for the help, you and other members gave me along the way it would not have turned out as well as it has for me. I honestly did not realize how much work aircraft models require, but they are fun to build.

Thank you Tony. I'm glad Bish extending the time, so the pressure is off to finish by the end of the year. I will check in to see how your Spitfire turns out.

Harold, the plane turned out great.  Whenever I get around to building a Spitfire some day, I hope it looks 1/10th as good as that one.

I am calling the Invincible done.  Testing out my new photobooth to finally get some uncluttered views, even if it is a tad small for the project:

Thank you Robert. The Invincible is quite a ship and something I hadn't noticed before is the ramp at the end of the catapult. It appears the Invincible had two propellers (in the Navy they are called screws). Looking at the superstructure there were four-boilers in two steam propulsion plants that powered two main turbine engines.

The Invincible had a top speed of 28-knots presumably with all four boilers online. So during flight operations she would need to have one boiler power the catapult and turn her bow into the wind and launch aircraft up in the air with aid of a ramp. Very clever design indeed.

Harold> For not a airplane guy, that turned out splendidly.

Robert> The Invincible looks like you could take her to sea.  That's a nice model!

Tony> Good luck on finishing by the end of the year.  You and me both!  Big Smile

Well done to all of you!

Thank you Gary, I am learning that aircraft models take a lot of tender loving care. You have had quite a year health wise, here is hoping you stay safe and healthy in the new year.

Cheers Gary.

Robert that CV came out really nice, I especially like the finish on the deck.

Great job on the your first Spitfire Harold, definately one to be proud of.

I finished up mine with a couple of days to spare. The Eduard kits are fantastic and I am looking forward to doing another.

Thanks for running this GB Bish

Tony: She looks good!

JBRaider: WOW! That looks awesome! I've got to do an Israeli Spit now! Great job!

My Spit is about 99.99% done. I found a missing clear parts sprue last night and just need to add the gunsight and the navigation light behind the cockpit. Sorry, I took some photos last night but don't have the right USB cable to plug into the work PC and don't want to log into Google mail here on the work machine. Cross your fingers I'll have the final photos in before the deadline tomorrow.
