That's a nice Phantom. I can remember watching them on TV land after a mission and one of the pilots being interviewed.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
This one was actually fitting well untill I got to the canopy sections. The frame between the two canopys split 3 times till I was able to get something going that held. I think it still looks good cause of the paint and the fact that the old Microscale decals held up.
On Ed's bench, ???
I don't know, it looks great to me! Well done and thanks for joining!

I just attached the AIM-88s do this busey beaver is done and is probably my last for the year. Hopefully next year things wont be as hectic and full of real life things we don't want to deal with.
Pick what ever photo you want as I posted the best 4 and thank you for hosting this GB. As true to their form this Italeri/Testors Phantom kit was a challenge as usual.
68GT Hopefully I can wrap this one up soon. I just have a lot of stuff going on.

Shoot, I am so sorry I missed that post. Go ahead and take some extra time if needed. I am not going to cut someone out if they are not quite done by 12/31. Especially if the build is nearly over the finish line. It looks great, I don't want to see anything happen to mar it in the haste to meet a completely arbitrary deadline.
Thanks guys!
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Steve that M-1 is amazing. It is hard to believe that is a 1/72 kit.
That Abrams really does look fantastic. Beautiful work.
Wow the storage really adds a lot to you're already nicely done model. Very impressive.
Thanks,
John
Thank you PJ
modelcrazy I completed my M1A1. The kit was fun but the tracks were a pain. I added some Gulf War US army stowage from Black Dogz. It required some modification but I think it looks alright. Thanks for running this Robert. It was fun.

You Steve hit that ball deeeep out of the park. Amazing paint and weathering my friend specially the scratches.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
I believe Bish has one planned for 23
Got it updated!
modelcrazy Thanks for running this Robbert. Nothing like a good Gulf War build!

Just think, in '23 we can do it all over again for the 20th of part two!
I'd say 1, 4 or 6, your choice.
That looks AWESOME! The storage set really makes it pop. I had a similar experience with the Black Dog storage set for the Delta Force FAV, needed a little work to get the resin pieces to fit, but they took the model to the next level.
Thanks for joining, I am really appreciative to all who did so I can see these great projects.. Any preference on the picture for the wall?
Sure thing John, I have updated the list.
Ed, the Phantom still looks great. The pilot was busy from the look of the markings by the intake...
I read a fascinating article about the service life of Phantom jets the other day, going on 60 years now and still in use around the world.
Steve, the M1 is really looking good!
I got some more work done to the Night Stalker.
Glam - I'm makeing a last minute change from the A-7 to the 1/48 Tamiya A-10, crossover with the close air support GB.
Thanks Robert.
Hmm, the kit itself is nice with a good fit, the only issue I have is those tracks. They just didn't fit and had some gaps. Luckly all the missing sections are hidden by the skirts. If I were to build it again I would not even bother with the return track or rollers. Unless you will have some missing skirts they are completly useless.
Other than that, nice kit.
That is turning out really nice Steve. What is your verdict on the kit so far? I have never build an Abrams in 1/72 scale, thinking about rectifying that soon.
After trying some new techniques I'm at this stage. I'm waiting for some stowage from Black Dog and also need to put on some antennas and such and spray a dust coat on it.
I got the black primer on an then used Vallejo's Iraqi Sand. I added some extra field applied stowage hangers and orderd some modern stoage from Black Dog which should be here is a few days.
The Abrams so far. A few more additions then comes th paint.
Yeah, until I go back to work on the kitchen again or something else happens.
Looks like it is flying along nicely!
I put a nice shine on this morning to seal up the Vallejo model air paint.
Thanks, I did a little more today. This is more like it.
