Go figure GB
Posted by Dodgy on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 4:38 AM

So, this GB is dedicated to figures, any scale, period or genre. Fantasy, Sci Fi, historical, whatever floats your boat. Busts are good too.

The rules are simple:

Have fun!

Cross overs are fine

Remember to keep it family friendly

The GB will run from the 01/12/22 until the 30/11/23. Don't stress if your figure isn't finished by the end date. This is just the cut off date for new entries.

Cheers,

Dodgy

Ok I have a few Navy figures for a dio to do. Have had them for a year now and haven't done anything with them. Going to use this GB to motivate me! Time to get started. Gotta run down later and get a poc of my LiveResin figures for this. Will post that up shortly.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Ok Ferg, I'll play your silly game. I have some figures I have been meaning to build to go with a Bushmaster I made a few years back for the modern armour GB.

Dodgy, you have an interesting sense of timing. I'd recently been thinking of taking some time to work on some 15mm Brits for wargaming, and here is a GB that is the perfect motivator! I'll check what still needs be done - it may just be a platoon or two, or it may be most of the force - before making a firm entry.

I have the perfect idea for this build! Can't wait!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”  - John 3:16-17

Oh what the heck.  I don't know how to do figures, put me down.  I'll take a look at the boxes in the cabinets.  I know there are some there just screeming for freedom.  I'll let you know.  How bad can I mess this up?

I haven't done a figure in ... forever.

( come to think of it ,... I haven't completed much of ANYTHING  for over a year now. )

I have some D&D fantasy figures around here somewhere.  I will get back to you on my choices for victims,  ... ah... I mean, subjects ...

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Hey Mach1, glad to to have you onboard, sounds like you're going to be busy!

ikar01, you can't possibly make more of a mess than I did when I started out. It's going to be lot's of fun, even if you have to grind your teeth when you say it!Confused

Littletimmy it's been a couple of years now since I finished a figure, so you're not alone. I'm sure I can remember how to paint them. I think, I mean I have done them before...... Haven't I???????

Incidentally, if anyone out there has any skills with creating badges for GB's I would appreciate some advice.

Count me in!  Great timing as I've been working on building up figure painting skills and just received this which seems perfect for the GB.

Hi Dodgy, I bought a set with an idea in mind, but didn't want to ruin them. This very timely GB is a great idea and this would be the place to start on them looking forward to it. I posted some figures I've already started on purely to see where I am. I'm on my phone now and the pictures won't load. I'll use my computer at work tomorrow to add them on they are the Bronco Models WW2 British/commonwealth AFV crew set and a British crewman "Tea time".

Thanks

Here are some really cool figure conversions to whet everyone's appetite:

I was stunned by the audacious concept, creativity and terrific execution.

So let us go forth, brave modelers, and unleash our collective power in the GB!!!  I call on the mighty Mew-Mew!  (Cue Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song".)

will be interesting to see which direction this pic shows up in...on smugmug it's horizontal in the gallery view and vertical in the picture view haha
