Hi there Andrew and Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

to FSM, it's always nice to have another Melbournian on the forums.

As to your question, I believe that the Italeri Kit # 772 is the one you're after but you've posted in an area most people won't see. This was a group build that finished some months ago and is no longer active. Post in the armor forum and I'm sure you'll get more responses there.

OK, folks.

The Portee isn't dead, but it's a long way off for a lot of reasons, dead airbrush being one, priority conflicts another, good weather (soon I hope) yet another, wifey projects even another.

So for closure here & to get some kind of credit for the Commonwealth build, here is the JMGT RRAC -- resin kit, lots of issues. I started it about 18 March which is of course after the GB ended, but since we're all dragging along, I thought I'd toss this in & see if I could sneak credit for the GB <GRIN>

that is just awesome work !!!
i was stalled on my chally 4 awhile there because i
couldn't find the p/e turret baskets i knew i'd ordered...
finally found the fret in between some other kit's instructions !
so it's back on the bench again & i will post some updated pix asap...

Well, thanks ...
I've gone into snail mode recently.
Some scheduling issues/conflicts that kept me away from the workbench & 4 other projects on the bench clamoring for work -- most of them at/near same level of effort.

Like I said, I primed it all. I've finished some detail on the gun itself & replaced the ammo ready box (lump) with a scratchbuilt one so I can show the shells.

I need to get at painting, that'll force the details to come together ....
If I could just get over:
-- a Dragon Wagon & LCM, with added detail ...
-- a semi-scratch M31 with interior ...
-- a Rolls Royce Armd car gone very bad ...
-- a Felixstowe flying boat, modified & w/interior ....

Fantastic John. It will be a shame to paint it, but no doubt it will look just as remakable in full livery. Glad to see you are still going strong, despite the little set backs. Keep posting pics, we are enjoying them.

No, I didn't give up on this ....

It's been a while because I got into putting some wiring on the chassis & started breaking things, so I had to put it down & walk away. I also had to face the moulding issues on my 2-pounder & that was work I didn't enjoy.

Well, I've kinda reached the "done building" point and it's all going in the paint booth. Here are the last unpainted pix you'll get -- the engine compartment.

As of now, most major assemblies -- the chassis, the cab, the 2-pounder mount, and the 2-pounder carriage -- have black primer (primer + pre-shade) on them. I'll focus on cleanup of seams, scratches, glue, etc and then start to paint the desert scheme & details. I also have small parts to build/add -- this will be an iterative process as I go back thru my photos & etc ....

I am still enjoying this build, I just had to get past an ugly spot ....

Sorry Guys, been away for over a week, my wife's Grandfather died.

Anyway, the Crusader is looking great chilly. The well worn sandblasted look will really stand out when it is finished.

Marian, good to see you perservering with the painting. The painting makes the model, but I agree it is such a bear to do sometimes.

Keep plugging away guys and gals.

MarianLH - thanks, - actually the color is a dark brown plain old rattle can of rust-o-leum.

That looks great Build-22 the pre shade really came out bueatiful. So far I've given mine a wash so heres a pic, Havnt gotten much done other than that but Im thinking maybe by the weekend.

I finished the Humber over the weekend with an airbrushed dusting and a final clear coat. The attempt at a "dusty" finish came out a bit garish, I think, but I have a couple more desert vehicles planned soon--practice makes perfect. Smile [:)]

Except for using superglue and taking even more care with ventilation, I didn't find working with Accurate Armour's resin to be very different from plastic. The biggest disappointment was, as I mentioned way back at the beginning, that there was so little assembling to do. Painting is my least favourite part, and with this kit painting was 90% of it.

I don't think I'll be doing another all-resin kit anytime soon, but now I'll be able to approach resin conversions and detail sets with some confidence.

I'm still working, but slower.
I was doing chassis/engine detail & started breaking things.
Some of my 2-pounder parts were badly warped or formed & I've had problems fixing same -- at some points doing more harm than good.
So a few other things moved up in priority just to keep me from doing something ugly out of frustration.

I hope to be over all that next week & have a coat of primer on most of it. Then I can start to paint & think about the little detail tie-in pieces.

I finished up the pre-painting assembly after christmas, and then got the flu. Tongue [:P]

I finally got back to it last week.

Last weekend I airbrushed the Humber Tamiya Khaki Drab over an acrylic primer, then gave it a coat of Future. I've been weathering with oils a little bit each night, and I hope to finish up this weekend.
