Any vresion
Also there will not be a patch unless someone else could build it. I hope that someone will be able to help with this.
The start date is August 1 and the end date is Octoer 10.
If there are any quetions or suggetions i'm all ears.

Any version huh?

Im planning on making a modified Sabre that was in use in the Australian Air Force for another group build, would it apply here also?

It is the F-86, but altered, and known here as the CAC Avon Sabre.

The Sabre is one of my favorite AC and I would love to join in, but just can't with the suggested time frame. Involved in 2 other GB's and it's golf/gardening season. Wish you luck with this one, should be interesting & fun.

Oh, man... I'm in another one... I have an F-86D in 1/48 by revell that i'm hoping to dress-up in Philippine Airforce colors... It'll (hopefully) be my submission to the Modeling Nationals here in manila. (Of course, i need to get it out of the box, first!) I guess I'm in too! Tongue [:P] Do you think we can move the deadline to about Oct. 10?

I, too, am new to this group build concept, and like the post above, I too am ignorant as to what a "badge" is. Can someone fill us in? So many Sabre Dogs, but that's what I have, so I'm in with a F-86D "Big Viv." I'm going to strip off an almost entire coating of Model Master foil and starting over with Metalizer or maybe Alclad if Santa Clause comes early. That foil was ca-ca. I can't believe people used to do NMFs using household tinfoil. It's been 15-20 years, but I saw some great looking builds using that no-doubt tedious method and Microscale used to put out an adhesive just for that purpose.

I'll probably kick myself later, but why not? Put me down for Revelograms F-86D, not the ProModeler one, but the regular issue one.

I think I'll jump in if I may. I've got a Hasegawa 1/32 kit which comes with JASDF
markings. However I'm replacing these with some USAF Korea decals that I
bought from Eagle Strike. I'm in 2 other group builds at the moment but my
construction time these days is about 3 weeks per kit on average. I should be
done in plenty of time to get to this build. So.....can I can I....huh?

Hello again,
It seemes that were geting quite a turn out so far so as i said before i will update. A badge is, when you have succesfully completed the build we issue out a "badge" that goes at the bottom of all of the post you make. So i guess that you could say that its like a ribbon or medal. (If i am wrong please tell me) but i'm sure thats what it is.

Dang the end date is too early I would really like to join this GB but I am working on the Monogram B-24D and building it as the Lady Be Good crashed on the desert floor, and I have to have it ready for an IPMS contest September 11th, and I am so far behind on it I cant affored to build anything else due to the time constrante. If you could possibly make it maby half a month longer like until October 10th then I could join with the Academy 1/48 F-86F-30, but I wont work on it untill september 12th.

I could change the end date and move it a few weeks later. I would like to see if there are any objections to it from the people we already have. If it is ok with them its ok with me. Most likely it will be fine. A few more weeks to make some spectacular models. So Is it ok with all of you that i change the end date to October 10th?

I could be happy with either badge, but if I had my druthers I'd take the bottom one. Super job.

I like the badge on the bottom... So, how many participants do we have? Kevin, Maybe you can keep the participants and what they're building in the first post of the thread so it's easy to see who's in on this. Big Smile [:D]

An end date of October 10 would be fantastic. Please? Oh, and I'm also doing the non-Pro-modeler version of the 1/48 SabreDog by Revell! Wink [;)]

Actually you don't need a sticky seeing as Dave created a forum just for GB. It's at the bottom of the General Modeling area. I also like the bottom one too, when can we start using it?

Update!

Got the Instrument panel and side panels painted on the Academy kit. I screwed up and drybrushed Metalizer aluminum. That's what I get for trying to drybrush at midnight... Oh well.

Great looking cockpit, Matt! I did the academy kit too a while back... make sure you glue on the throttle assembly because I forgot to do it until the sabre was complete!

I think we need to send an E-mail to Lawrence to get this thread moved to the right place... So can we start using the badge? Big Smile [:D]
