I've nearly finished two of entries in to the Federation Ship Group Build.  All they need is decals and then a dullcote and they'll be done.  I'm going to be doing my best to finish these up before I head to work this afternoon, but have a feeling I'm not going to make it.  I'll post pics at some point tomorrow, whether I actually finish the models or not.  Right now I'm waiting for paint to dry before handling the models again.

Bumpty-Bump!

Lookin' good, RemcoGrob!  Is she any closer to being finished?

I'm about to put decals on the Reliant buildup I've done.  Not my best paint job, as I was doing buildups for MMI to display on the FedMods table at WonderFest and fell behind on the painting and got a bit hurried. Pics to follow by this Friday or Saturday!

I think I did welcome you, or was that in another thread?..

Just seems strange that it has dissapeared?

What is going on in this place these days?

Anyways Mr Mott, as you can see, Remco is the only fella keeping the dream alive.. I simply havnt had the taste for modeling of late, so I have been doing very little myself.. I guess as the new releases of Star Trek kits have dried up, so has the enthusiasm.. I guess when people see post after post of the same thing, after a while you loose interest in it.. I usually try to model in most subjects such as Ships, sci-fi, armour, actually anything, just so I dont get bored. But building in general has come to a stand still...

Remco, would love to see how you are getting on also.. Atleast I care!.. he he he

That happens sometimes, you will find your "building groove".

I have done some more detail painting. Since nobody had input on how to do the windows I am just painting them white (lit) and black (unlit). Not much progres so I will wait with pics until I have got something to show.

I hadn't expected the large quantity of detail painting that is necessary (correct spelling?) when building sci-fi. I thought these ships where just plain grey with a few variations and details, not the huge amount of windows and other small details. All in all, a lot more work then I thought.

Okay,

Buildin' them for myself (and sons) anyway but thought it would be fun to participate. Just didn't want to show up at the very last day and then say hello.

Good luck to all!

Anyways guys, I have been keeping an eye on the build, but have had nothing positive to ad.. Havn't touched a model since before Xmas.. Just lost the enjoyment.. But I do check to see how you are all going. It is a shame that we have all gone our seperate ways.. I know alot of the guys are busy over at another site that was started by a few guys in the aircraft section.

I'm still here, but haven't edited the pics I took of my builds yet as I've got some commission work going on, so my entries have fallen by the way-side for now.

Anyhow, far as I'm concerned, you can play!  Enjoy! Big Smile [:D]

Hi Y'all,

New to thid board and since my modeling interests change as often as the weather it's only recently that I starting 'catching up' on the Sci-Fi section. Your group build caught my attention and after reading through almost every page of past posts it looks like it's still open?

If that's correct I'd like to announce my intention to participate. I recently raided my stash and started an AMT Reliant which is coming along. At first glance I thought I'd forego the correction saucer (thickness) parts but now that the paint is almost finalized I realize I should have done that- oh well? It's not lit but I'm concentrating on a clean OOB build with efforts focused on filling all the seams and then applying a 'nice' paint job. Paint is finished to the point of adding Aztec'ng and with the help of another FSM member (DNATech) I'm on my way to getting templates made up by a sign shop so they'll be precut since I quickly learned that an X-Acto blade and Frisket paper require more patience than I have left in me!

I've also started a PL NX-01 in 1/100th which will follow a theoretical schematic I found after devising my plan, on the Net. It'll have four nacelles (not exactly an original revelation) but I'm also increasing the thickness of the saucer figuring that the four nacelles and additional space lend themselves to extended missions?

So what is the latest end date of this build?

So what do Ya say, want some more company and at least a "bump" for this topic?

I have continued painting the details, some different shades of grey are now on the ship.

Has anyone got recommandations on how to do the windows?

Great work Remco.. Slowly but surely!

I had some others projects which required some attention. But my Intrepid is my main projoect for now.

I have made an inventarisation on which detail colours I stil have to paint. These space ships are not as grey as one might think!

I also need to find a way to do the "windows". The kit suplied transparanties are just a few of the windows that are on the "actual" ship. I think that I wil paint the windows white and black (lights on or off).

Sci-fi model are hard to find here in the netherlands, I have only got a few and I bougth them at the dutch nationals. Most modelshops over here only have the Revell Stars Wars kit's.Even the AMT kits that are easy to find in the states (according to what I read on the forums) are difficult to find over here.

If you are ever after anything.. I am sure someone here would be able to help you out.. Although we dont get the AMT kits here in Japan either..

You are right Chris, thanks to Internet I  can probably get almost any kit. But my stash is large enough as it is (100+ kits) so I must resist the urge to buy more. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]
