I'm already up to my eyeballs in GB's, but aw heck!!....what's one more?

You can jot me down for an Eduard 1/72 Me-410.

 

What kind of time frame do you have in mind?

Well, what's the timeframe?  Rules, guidelines? 

I was thinking now to one year to now. but GBs never end on time.  as far as rules, any scale, any aftermarket sets or OOB, anything as long as its a luftwaffe day fighter

well I got my 190 today in the mail.  it looks like a very nice kit.  cant wait to start it.

sounds good, I have been eyeing that kit myself but I have others ahead of it on my list of kits to build.

Hmmm..... this would give me the excuse I need to dig out either my 1/32 Hasegawa FW190D-9 or 1/32 FW190A-8.  For now, put me down for the Dora.... 

welcome Espins, I put you down for the D-9.  After sleeping through Drivers ed I have had some time the last few days to put together the cockpit.  even though you wont be able to see much of it once it is enclosed in the fuselage.  I will add a drop of gloss clear to simulate glass over the instruments. tomorrow I will probably finalize assembly.  I have purchased Superscale's decals with Maj. Joseph Wurmheller's  plane from 9./JG2

Yah I've seen that before pretty interesting to watch. I saw one where a 190 is making a dive through attack and blows the left inboard engine right off a B-17.  Another one I like is a P-15B being hit with a 30mm explosive cannon shell from a 109G. The shell hits about half way between the canopy and the tail, blowing the tail off of it. Alot of 109 Pilots if they get close and knew that had the kill shot would trigger the cannon only. It took only 1 or 2 rounds to bring down a figher. That the reason way you see some luftwaffe pilots reaching ace in one battle or in some cases 11 minuts. 

I had several fit problems the cockpit of the 152. I counted on some fit problems with it being a dragon kit. The upper insterment isn't even cloes and with photo etch walls and other add on's I had to do some thinning and thimming to get things right. It's doesn't look bad, I use the kits seat, stick, and controls along the seat. I still have some clean up and touch up work before I glue the fuselage halves together. I also have to add head set plug.

very nice phoenix.  I have been eyeing that kit fir a while.  just how bad are the Dragon kits I have never built one, but I have a few on my to build list.

As far as accuracy and detail go dragon kits are top shelf, with the exception of that new 1/32 mustang. The trick is trying to get them together. The fit of most ofthere kits ranges from bad to wow, I don't think I can build this. There 1/48 D-11 kit is  has some of the poorest fitting parts I've seen. the other problem is it's not one thing, most all of the major parts just don't want to work togther. You have to rethink how you build a kit to build a dragon kit. I can tell you right now I will have to glue the fuselage halves together in steps dry fitting, sanding, and holding things togther while they dry to get the 152 together, and after it's together I'll still have to putty and sand the seams. I have seen some pretty good modelers put down a dragon aircraft kit due to multiple large problems (2 on this forum). Unless you are a experienced modeler who like a real challange I would recommend steering clear of most of there aircraft kits. I understand there armor is far better than there aircraft offering. The funny thing is alot of there smaller detail parts kit pretty good most times. Nice kits IF you want to put alot of effort and time into construction and clean up.

Looks like a great idea, Yeti. I have too many planned builds at this time, but if you do a Jagsgescwader GB II I should be ready for it!

to bad mucker I may very well do another One in a year or so.  Almost done with the 190.  any ideas for a a badge i have never made one, and how do you make the badges that flash from one to the next.

It's an animated .gif file.  You need a softward program that does that.  I use Adobe Photo Elements for mine.  It's a matter of having multiple "layers", with one badge in each layer.  When I go to save the file, I save it as an animated .gif, set to scroll say every 2 seconds, then just upload it to photobucket.  The tricky part is just having the software that can make those, and figuring out how to do it with the software.

Well I bought a Squadron Tri-Grit Sanding stick to clean up my canopy,  I have started to install the areal wire.

Well  I finished my 190's canopy and added the aireal wire.

I have been reading the first and the last by adolf galland it is very insightful and contradicts many things that I have read other places about the Jagdwaffe and the Luftwaffe in general

Well after running to not only typical dragon problems but a few others I finally go this thing done. Now I can focus more time on the spitfire build which I am falling behind in. I'll Give a quick run down here and post more on the aircraft forum. To my knowledge this is the only 1/48 scale plastic ta152 made so if you want one this is it. Like all dragon kits if you have the time and the skills they build up into very accurate and super looking kits. I'm very happy with how this turned out. I think it is one of my better builds this year. The one thing I did not fix is the canopy in the right light you can see what looks like hair in the clear part. it's actually like a run in the plastic it's self. It is also cracked on the right side. I will replace it before I take it to any shows.

I will be depicting "Yellow 7" of Oberfeldwebel Heinz Arnold, II./JG7, based at Prague's Ruzyn airport in April 1945. The aircraft had (unusually for jets) Arnold's kill tally on the fuselage. Arnold was lost in a ground attack mission in another 262 on 17th April. Leutnant Fritz Muller flew "Yellow 7" to Lager-Lechfeld on 8th May where he surrendered. The aircraft was taken in by US Forces (Watson's Whizzers) and now resides in a museum in Washington, if anyone wants to compare my work when i'm done!

The reason for this aircraft is twofold: 1) it's one of my favourite WWII planes - soooo far ahead of its time 2) my fiancee is Czech and from Prague, and i like to model pieces that have a Czech angle wherever possible.

I will be using Tamiya's base kit, Aires cockpit and wheelbay set, Cutting Edge flaps and control surfaces, and Cutting Edge weighted wheels.

If anyone can show me some pics / evidence of what the airfield looked like at Ruzyn, i may make a small diorama. Specifically, i would love to use the Kettenkraftrad from the A-2a kit, but am not sure they were stationed there.

I will post some pics once i have something to show!
