s.W.s & 3.7cm Flak 43

Hi, I did'nt expect to see this turn up again.

THETFED, I bought the mesh from an Auto repair shop; its what is used for body repairs. Its not to scale but not a long way off.

Nice thing about this kit is that if you want to change out the kit barrel with a LionRoar or Griffon Turned brass barrel the reciever already has the hole to install the barrel.

Guys, check the date on the original post...3-13-2009...this one rose from the dead after 2.5 years...and Kenny's abilities have improved in that time span as well.

Kenny, Very nice build for sure!! I only have one suggestion. The mud on the road wheels (which i assume is pigments) could use a bit of massaging to take away the stark black rubber vs solid mud. You can take a small round or flat brush and gently move the pigments around a bit to blend the edges and use some of the pigment to dull down the stark black. There is no need to re-wet them. Reworking them a little dry will make a world of difference. This includes the chassis and body panels that have pigments on them as well.. Won't take but a few minutes.

One thing I consistently see is that often times modelers don't work with the pigments enough once they're applied. Wetting them and smearing them on is only the beginning. As I said, you've done a great job, but I really think you could ramp the weathering up a notch with a little more time spend spreading the dry pigments around.

Maybe a bit less "shiny" black showing on the wheels.

  Other than the frustration with the tracks it looks to have turned out really quite well.

I have a question,what did you use for the shell ejection netting?

I have this kit in the stash actually it just arrived yesterday and am going to accurise it to some degree or another.

ok here is some critiques

1) Build looks pretty good but your rubber rims on the road wheels look like the paint was stripped off? What you should do is use acrylic powders or real mud to weather tires.

2) 37mm Flak ammo is color coded for HE incindiary and AP incindiary don't quite know the colors offhand but I think they are red and yellow.

3) good job on the flash supressor but the brake for the muzzle doesn't exist but there is a section behind the flash supressor that is also supposed to be opened as well.

Oh and before I forget Road wheels are supposed to show lots of abuse so well abuse them just not to heavily. A gouge here and there will work just fine.

I have this kit with a whole bunch of PE and aftermarket tracks for it, so I hope that it isn't as frustrating a build as you say it is--I really have always liked the look of this kit!
