heya Steve :  )
ya know, I was just thinkin' 'bout putting a small base on my nearly finished gatling gun, something I have never done, and up pops your small base tutorial ! Talk about yer good timing.
I really love what you have done, and all a budget that even I can afford.
On the mushroom thing, Dude, I honestly never even considered that it looked like earwax.... are you sure you didn't accidentally  ingest some while cooking them up ? Hmmmmmm?....(maybe you are the only one seeing red !  lol...) all kidding aside, they look really cool.. .I hope I don't accidentally steal that detail for my base. :  )
I can't wait to see that fat E2 sittin on the road just a waitin... it will be awesome.
Thanks for another great installment buddy.
yer pal
love seeing my name in print, tread  :  )

  Gabby,
Please don't put a small base on your gatling gun.
Put the gatling gun on the small base, it'll look much better.

       ....yuk, yuk, yuk.....
                   Stooges

Now.... thank you Bill, it's nearly done.
Looking forward to the completion of your G/G too.

Steve, nice work on the base. Looks like the perfect setting-not too busy to distract from the impressive work on the vehicle.

I can't wait to see what you do with this baby when it's finished. I know it's going to be a real treat! There won't be enough Smileys to capture it!

A RECIPE FOR DISASTER 06/05/2011 Almost finished.......

Alright, okay, okay guys.....
Stand back 'n get comfy.

Had some issues to
http://www.therealityshow.net/talk/images/smilies/smiley_ironing.gif out.
I just now got this all together.

http://ccakamai.about.com/images/emoticons/smiley-undecided.gif Being that the world was supposed to end
two weeks ago I kind'a got a bit behind.

http://www.armymilitarymanuals.com/new-20-june_siin.gif
              This way Folks.
             http://www.clipart-fr.com/en/data/icons/3D_01/icones_02209.png
I'ma writing from my field office..... toilets wc clipart graphics

It's time for another http://www.americanmusical.com/images/DentScratch.jpg chapter
of  "W T http://th23.photobucket.com/albums/b390/pep_133/smileys/th_rofl.gif "

It's fun to build a nice model http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_20_3v.gif

...and then Disasterise  it into submission.

  ........just a couple more whacks.

Yea..........

Here's my spin on it.
I actually do that a lot too.

I got a spinnin' stool I sit on.

It helps me unwind........
http://th261.photobucket.com/albums/ii45/Nls1st/Smileys/th_WooHoo.gif

And so........here's how it's a going.

I just keep it simple....

....it ain't rocket science.

Most of the parts are yet
to be attached  .....

http://www.armymilitarymanuals.com/chain003_short_003_43uf_n05p_psfm.jpg

White gouche paint was dabbed in a
random pattern with a small sponge
impaled on a toothpick. I did all the
same things to the hull surfaces in
the track areas too.

  No future .........   http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/MSN_Emoticons/MSN-Emoticon-209.gif

http://www.smileycodes.info/emo/heyhey/109.gifNo pigs...... http://www.smileycodes.info/emo/heyhey/78.gif
No hair spray .... http://cliparts101.com/files/565/49B15A4F8FFA6871AC4D20B7740FF110/Aerosol_Hairspray_01.png

http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/margaritasmile2.gif..... and not a speck of salt
anywhere other than in my margarita.

Ain't I a tease?
http://www.123gifs.com/gifs/texte/checkout/123gifs016.gif
And now you get to see what I meant
about the post shading just
being practice.

........... it'not
really much in evidence.

After plenty of drying time, a very thinned out application of titanium white oil paint was added to tie it together.

(I use turpenoid,  NOT THE GREEN CAN)

Now, 24 hrs later...... time for play.

Below, I'm streaking some white oil
paint mixed with a touch of black oil
paint added for a lightly greyish color
using a turp dampened brush. Same thing you've seen on the forum many times.

Here's the other side with a crudely
painted star..... first of three just to see
if I could do it; they don't haf 'ta
be perfect for my intended purposes.

Now to brush it back a some with a bit
of drybrushing using Pollyscale acrylic
olive drab.

I "WAS" gonna rust up the rebar weld areas but figured it wouldn't show that much with all the whitewash.

After some more drying time, a bit more
white oil wash was applied to the lower area to give the appearance of the snow camo collecting/running off.

How 'ya like that cheapo M2
I got wrapped on top ??

I cheaped it out with the crappy old
Italeri M2 Browning. I used brass tube
to replace the barrel, some thread, kleenex, white glue and various oil and acrylic washes to get what you see.

Eyebrow   Havin' fun yet????

Some more work with the OD and some
streaking runoff.

  Baby's coming along......

Not much in the way of chipping....
   that baked
factory enamel finish was
pretty dern tough on it's own.

  Another careful oil wash.......
        and some fuel spillage.
I just love playing with this......
            it's so easy.

Now, imagine it on the base.......
http://newlifegames.net/nlg/Smileys/default/CoolChicken.gif

A bit more tweaking, and then.........

http://www.armymilitarymanuals.com/32651861_9c3s.gif

It's about time to whip out my torch
and weld all that chickenwrap in place.

chicken animal *** clipart graphics  Should'a seen the look on
those pecker faces
when they saw
where all their chicken wire  was headed.....chicken chick clipart graphics

Well, I'll soon be gettin' on with the final make on this.

    I'm nearly done.....
       Good............
         'cause  I'ma jus'dying
               here to move on to
                  something else.
