I'd want to do more research on the original vehicle before considering buying the kit.

Buy what ever floats your tank........

good project for rust application, though.Wink

It was the topic of conversation a couple of weeks ago during Constructor's build photos:

I placed a pre-order when I posted the link.

Yep, but this one has floats!!! I remember when I first joined the Forum there was a pic of a Japanese tank that was modified to be an engineering tank---I wanted to build that so bad but didn't save the pic...looked like the basis for it may have been this type...looked like a swiss army knife tank!

I only do 1/72 armor, but if it was available in that scale, I'd be on it like lint on a cheap suit....

How much will it sell? I found the first model rather expensive already.

That's almost as weird as the gigantic German railroad cannon I saw on the cover of Squadron's catalog a few months back!  Not for me, definitely.

I saw that 1/35th scale kit in it's huge box at my LHS last weekend for $1,050  with separate aluminum barrel and breech available at extra cost.

Don't know the price of the aluminum detail parts or whether they require seam removal.....

I guess I will have to say  yes, for sure.  It's the right scale and is nice and angular.  I have the first one Dragon did with out the floats, and this will look nice next to it..  I do tend to buy many of the new armor kits as they become available.  I only pick and chose with modern stuff.  I prefer WWII or earlier.  I do have quite a few modern pieces, but stuff that Trumpeter does for the Chinese army doesn't really interest me, and several other bits of modern just elicit a "meh" from me. Although  I'll be getting that old Atomic Cannon by Revell ex Renwall sometime.  Never could afford it when I was much much younger.  Now, however......

Yes, I know. Check the first post of the second page, one made by me. I posted the link and the CyberHobby poster of the one with floats and I pre-ordered it (Sept 16th).

The post devolved into a discussion about the cost of the kit ($70+), but I figured it was well within the range of what I paid for when I first discovered Fine Molds IJA tank kits. And probably a better kit.

Definately YES.

$70-ish would be a bit too much for me Manny.....      not that it doesn't look unique or well made.      The tag and the subject just wouldn't float-my-boat (so to speak)....   but, that is just my opinion

Enjoy the ride!

Is it a tank? Is it a boat??? It's so angular & weird I'd actually probably give it a "yes", if I built armour. (I see $70 below?.... I doubt I'd throw that much $ at a kit to be honest)

So yes. I want to float its pontoons (or something Manny would say) Stick out tongue

Well, I'm not quite as cheap as von Hammer but I'm close. Still I went ahead and pre-ordered one since it is limited run and I'm slightly baka about anything Japanese.

I'll see about posting photos of the pontoon parts if anyone wants to see them.

Oh---wow.  I do think that is it.  Sorry, I didn't see your last posting of this.  Any more pics of this?  What does the reference caption call it???

That could be a cool project...

I'll see if I can hunt up the reference book, I don't remember the name now. I do remember this was the only photo of the vehicle. The caption called it a one of a kind engineering vehicle used for clearing mines and brush. I'll try to get more information posted tomorrow.
