Thanks Kamil, makes sense as a test bed/mock-up. I agree with you that the sight adds interest/details...and probably impressed the chief during inspection as well! Wink

there are no gunsight hle in the armor shield at the archive picture visible.

why i mounted the gunsight? just to make this part of the miniature more interesting.

in my opinion this vehicle was built probably just to test, how the hanomag 'works' with this gun.

but there is another explanation- it was prepared to show to the 'chief' another eye-catching  vehicle..

Very nice work on the paint shading! Yes

I am curious about the gun sight arrangement on this vehicle and admit readily to not knowing anything about it one way or the other. The splinter shield doesn't have an opening for a direct fire optical sight and you have it fitted with an artillery telescoping sight, is that how the prototype was originally set up or did you go that way on your own? I would assume this design was meant to be used in an anti-tank direct fire mode only but would be happy to be proved wrong.

Great painting job... nothing looks too "monotoned" here.  What is going on?!?!?!?  Everybody is building something with BIG guns now...

So cool. I love the shading going on. That gun is so massive, it looks like it should tip the vehicle over if you swung it to say the side.

The 88mm was mounted on the Sdkfz. 8 ( Flak 18 ) and 9 ( Flak 37 ).

That makes a LOT more sense.  The 88s weighed something like eight tons.

With ALL the Shermans out there, I'm so surprised not to see a 36DD. I mean a DD. Embarrassed

I'm sorry, you're looking for the P-47 GB Whistling

And yes, while Resicast makes some resin DDs conversions, there is not yet an 1/35 DD Sherman by Academy/Dragon/Italeri/Tamiya/Tasca . But you would think that something produced in the hundreds that had a major role with various effectiveness in the most celebrated assault landings ever would be the subject of a mainstream injection kit over a paper panzer that was never produced, let alone saw combat.Bang Head

One reason I stopped doing my own... I converted a Tamiya 1/35 Stug IIIH to a IIIE and Panzer IIIM/N to a IIIJ, and in both cases after I completed those, Dragon announced and released one of each. I know as soon as I ever start on my M4A1 DD project the same thing will happen...Angry

Great to see you back.

You know, the minute you finish this project, Dragon will announce a release of one. Devil
