Bish

stik, it was a real proposal, but only one was built. Possably due to the weight.

Thanks for the enlightenment on this vehicle Bish.Wink Accorind to the link you sent, the weight of the PAK 43 was the problem.

KFS, you are doing some very nice improvements on your build. It will be very unique when finished to say the least. Toast

Both AFV and dragon did announce Ausf A's, but that was nearly 3 years ago, and no joy yet. But you never know.

Cool project! I can only imagine what it would've been like to be a crew member on that setup...I bet the recoil would've been a huge stress on the chassis. Not to mention the complete lack of protection for the crew or any room for ammo! Wink

the main problem is that this is just really not a good kit. the number of weaknesses, mistakes and simplifications makes this miniature god just only because it is the only one existed scale kit of 'B' (ok, there were 251 b from tamiya, eons ago.. but in my humble opinion zvezda's is better, even with its weaknesses)

i hope DML or AFV will put some another one on the market.. or any another east manufacturers

I believe the main problem with that kit is that the interior is actually for an Ausf C. A pity as i would love a B. But i guess that issue isn't really going to matter with what you doing to it.

Interesting project... is that photo for real? The subject vehicle looks Photo-shopped compared to the rest of the photo. Could the 251 chassis handle the weight of a PAK-43?

Hello everyone!

Next one unordinary vehicle. Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.B w PAK 88mm

he only one available kit for B version is offered by Zvezda. And iven if most of their scale kits are excellent- this one is definitely not.. There are too much simplifications and too much details are omitted, in my opinion. Fortunately, there are no major problems with fitting of the parts.

I've started work with assembly of the suspension. In fact, the best way for it is replacing this section with set from AFV. But under some mud and dust it could look acceptable. More problems appeared at cockpit panel. Zvezda made it almost flat, and al details which are molded, are really crude. In fact, manufacturer gives for the gauges decal. but.. in this kit decal for it is no printed at decal sheet (i purchased command version, to get 'radio set' from it for some future projects). So.. I had to make it myself. I printed gauges on paper, drill some holes etc. I also add some details from spare parts from my stash, to get more accurate look fot whole section..

by the way- this were i'm going to:
