My copy came today:

Kenneth: Great job there on the Panzer II. The whitewash looks great and I love the snow.

Karl: Great article and great model. I'm definitely going to have to pull out a paint mule and give your spraying though the paint brush mud splatter technique a try.

Hey guys, THANK YOU, all! Big Smile

I am thrilled that FSM is still featuring my work after I've really been mostly MIA on the forums due to a crazy, busy year. Lots of work and travel leaving me little time to sit down and model. Yeah, it sucks!

Nice to know that I'm not forgotten! I'll be back as soon as time slows down for me!

Thanks again for the kind words, and congrats too to Kenneth! SmileBeer

Congratulations to you both. Excellent work, as usual.

Let's also give a shout-out to Mr. Don Stauffer--his very fine Colombo Express container ship is also in this issue's readers gallery!

Well done all!

Great work on the M-60, doog...I was very impressed with your finishing techniques on this one...it seems you concentrated more on replicating the fading, oxidation, and soiling effects (which I feel are more realistic) on the paint  than the more typical rust and "chipping" that seems so common these days with armor...I gotta tell you this may be your most realistic finish you've pulled off yet...liked the way you achieved the orange "caking" in the running gear as well---a purely Vietnam charactersitic that is often botched! That's high praise from you, Manny--I appreciate the kind words. Just one small thing--it's an M48. Whistling...not an M60.Wink

I wanted to do an OD tank and try out some different finishing techniques on this one--different from the "usual" DY finish. I think it came out pretty close to what I was going for. Thanks for noticing! Big Smile

And thanks too, all who have left comments!

AND WAY TO GO, DON! You're getting to be a pretty regular contributor to the Reader's Gallery! Yes

Thanks, Mike! It was a great build here with all the veterans weighing in and giving opinions. One of my favorite WIPs for sure!

Karl--Just got my Fine Scale Modeler on Saturday and enjoyed your build while lying out by the pool (before the Phoenix sun got too crazy hot)! Great build, as usual! Although I'm not crazy about tanks, I do like reading about their builds--you never know when some trick or technique might come in handy for something else. Once again, a terrific job and congrats on the cover! Now all you need is to wire the tank to play Jimi Hendrix, Cream, the Doors and so forth.Smile

By the way, where do you get metal circle templates like the one shown in your article? I'm having a tough time finding one.

Don--Nice build on your container ship!Yes A few months ago, one of my fellow IPMS Craig Hewitt members brought the kit into a meeting to show us. It was quite impressive even in the box!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the mention. Congrats to the others as well. I should also like to mention that on the opposite page from mine is a MT-LB from another dude (Ray Smith) in the Central Arkansas Scale Modelers club. His MT-LB is 1/87 scale and made of paper...

Noticed that. I mean how many people from the large city of Conway AR get mentioned? LOL

Jim, thanks for the compliments!

I believe that I found that circle template in A.C.Moore's? You can probably pick one up at Michael's too?

Those 48's look so much like the 60, but I've always thought the 48 was more pleasing to the eye...

I see you used the Verlinden crew---those resin figs are some of their original line and must be at least 25-30 years old now.  Great job painting them as well...
