Thanks to everyone for the kind comments! I am so glad that you like it. It is the first of, hopefully, many more. (I have to say that every one of the builds going on over in the Steel Cats GB is quite impressive... you've seen a few here.)
Blitzwing - The kit itself came with DS (one piece) tracks. I opted to use Friul individual links. On the advice of others in this forum, I used dress pins to assemble the links. If you look closely at the right side you can see the oversized heads for the pins. If I was really insane, I would have made these more to scale. I thought they looked "close enough"... Maybe on a future build...
ghost180 - thanks! Of course we all try to hit all the details... I have to stop looking at the digital pics cuz I keep finding more that needs to be remedied!
T26E4 - Yeah, never been a big fan of the "attacked by a pickaxe" look. I have a hard time believing that these things had either that much chipping or that much rust on them - given their service life.
doog - I really appreciate the compliments! The spare links are also Friul leftovers... the burnishing of the links on the right side just didn't "take" as well for some reason... I figured they just looked kinda dusty. If they keep fading out, I may have to do something, but for now I'm just gonna leave it.
Ben - Geez man... humbling words given the company we are in over there... Thanks though. I think all of the builds are excellent. Like you, this is my best effort to date. I hope to keep improving. I keep waiting for the next dud... LOL. It was also a pleasure helping you out with ref materials. I love doing that stuff!!
